Here's something to talk about regarding casting (from tonight's The Graham Norton Show):



Very interesting reaction from Harrison Ford after the first question - he turns to BC as if wanting to confirm it's OK to talk about his involvement in ST...

 

I dunno, from that, and taking some massive leaps without any basis at all, I'd say both Harrison and BC are going to be in it.

 

I think Ford is definitly in it and he's just not allowed to talk about it. I'm not worried about them not returning. Also I do think Cumberbatch is highly likely to be in it now. I mean his reaction....that is the most "Uhhh...DODGE DODGE DODGE!" response I've ever seen

 

Oh so now we're looking at and studying body language? Neeeeeerrrrrrds

 

I don't get it. HF already knows he can't talk about it. He doesn't need to look to CB for permission.

I think he was just humorously curious how CB would think about the 100000th question about a SW involvement.

 

I dismissed it too at first, but a Tumblr post pointing it out messed with my mind. I also wouldn't put much stock into it. But it's something interesting to discuss nonetheless IMO.

 

Loved the clip of Harrison and Benedict. Harrisont turning towards him doesn't necessary mean he is looking for advice on revealing something or don't. He did that in other interviews, playing as if the question wasn't directed at him but the others sitting next to them. It felt awkward, though, there mingt be something going on with those two...

Also, the Hamill rumor is the weirdest shiz I've read since the ST was announced.

Ya I think this kinda leans closer that BC and Ford are in Episode VII.

 

Body language "reading" aside, I think that clip should put the doubters to rest. THAT'S the way Harrison has been 'playing it' since the announcement, with a dry, wry smile and a wink. It's VASTLY different actually seeing the clip verses seeing '!!11!DENIAL!11!!' in print.

After seeing that, I firmly believe Harrison is truly 'in', and to be honest, now the idea of BC doesn't horrify me nearly as much. (What can I say? I didn't really care for WoK redux.)

After watching that, I am becoming more convinced that Harrison and Benedict are both in, though...

 

I find it funny how the media took it as literal truth when Harrison told them "I haven't made my choice yet." I mean come on. It was obvious that he was joking and the audience was laughing.

 

Obviously we are ridiculously overanalysing this clip, but he does seem to be joking. They both do. I just can't see why you would dodge like that if you knew it was a no.

 

Ha ha I've spent a lot of years in a Doctor Who fandom, where every snippet of info/rumour is analysed to death. Repeatedly. And overanalysis of everything is a daily practice. It's rubbed off on me, it seems...

No problem I'll be watching the show itself tonight, but I doubt there will be anymore potential hints...

 

I don't think we are, actually - what we saw in that Is far different from just reading 'HARRISON FORD HAS DOUBTS'...

yes.....in the context of the interview...it's more a joke (I haven't made my choice yet) than an state of mind.

 

Definitely. And if he was out or hasn't made up his mind, he would have had to make that "choice" a few months ago as the script is most likely in its final stages.
