Casting the game...

    One of the great things that the old WEG version had was to style the various adventures as movies, with opening scrolls, cutscenes and such.

    With my games I tend to take this one step further, and to give all of the major characters (PC and NPC) actors. It really helps the players visualise the action and makes character pics quite easy (check out http://fan.starwars.com/JediBendu/index.html for an example)

    The castiung for my first game was:

    Dana Delaney - Elsa Furore (smuggler)
    Ethan Navarra (Eric Stoltz) -Jedi Knight
    Daal Jardin (Jason Carter) (archaeologist)

    NPCs
    Anakin Skywalker (Ralph Fiennes)
    Obi-wan Kenobi (Kenneth Branagh)
    Jaeger Carlsted (Nicholas cage) - Sith Pirate


    Second trilogy:

    Nils Camrin (Kyle Maclachlan) - Gambler, smuggler... scoundrel
    Del Cascade (Marjorie Monaghan) - Free trader turned bounty hunter
    Reesa Etarn (Joanne Walley-Kilmer) - Alliance Fleet officer & Alderaan Legionnaire
    Rebecca Windborne (Gina Gershon) - Damn fool idealistic crusader

    NPCs
    General Adar Tallon (Bruce Willis) - Legendary tactician
    Colonel Hiram Drayson (Clint Eastwood) - Head of Alliance Intelligence
    Kaiya Andrimetrum (Linda Fiorentino) - Rebel agent
    Lofryyhn - Andrimetrum's Wookkiee sidekick
    Beren Mannering (John Cusack) - Rebel agent

    You get the idea...

    Yeah, I know what you're saying! I pictured Wesley Snipes as one Jedi that I had in mind to play.

    The campaign I'm about to play on I have JG Hershler (Gen. Martokk from ST-DS9) as a Cathar Jedi Master.

    For the campaign I'm preparing to run, I haven't got all the characters pictured yet, but so far I've got:

    Mark Calloway (the Undertaker from WWF) as Lord Omin, a Dark Jedi

    Kane (also from WWF) as Lord Dread, Lord Omin's brother

    William Sadler as Baron Izmun "Iceman" Feyd, a disgraced Imperial Starfighter Ace

    Clancy Brown (as the Kurgan) as Lord Quisitor, a Dark Jedi

    Christopher Walken (as the Hessian) as Lord Phobetor, a Dark Jedi

    I had Christopher Walken as a venerable Jedi master, Master Veil Cord, and Wesley snipes is going to have a role, but I can't say what, just in case some of my players are on this site.

    Are you going to make your players choose actors as well? I found this made them really envision their characters.

    You could cast Willem Dafoe as a real shady intelligence type of person out of Clear and present danger, that would really suit his type of acting

    I dunno if he pictures himself as Dirk Benedict, but one of my players patterned his character after Starbuck from Battlestar Galactica...

    I've done this a lot in other RPGs, and I've continued it in the campaign I'm running now. Here's what I have so far:

    Milla Jovovich as a shady Force-sensitive fringer PC
    Jerry Doyle as a smuggler PC
    Gwyneth Paltrow as a Force adept PC

    For NPCs:

    Linda Hamilton (from T2) as an Alliance frigate captain
    David Strathairn as an Imperial captain
    Jurgen Prochnow as a Jedi Knight
    Doug Hutchinson (Percy from "The Green Mile") as an Imperial lieutenant

    I also pulled a couple of pics from Decipher's SW:CCG cards for other NPCs.
