Hey all, some one wants a game that i have and i burnt it, but it wont play. It might be becuase of the write protection, but i know that you can get past that, and id like to know how. Every time i insert the burnt CD into the thing and pressthe icon to play, it revs its thing, but nothing happens. The entire CD is burnt, but i dont know what to do now.
    Any help would be... helpful.

Aren't you the last person I told not to ask how to pirate software in here?

I was gonna put in an edit saying that you would say that...
....Uhh... Sorry. But one person doing it wont do too much to make the whole industry drop into poodoo. He really wants it and i just wanted to give it to him.

    REPEAT

Ask LA about your problem, I'm sure they'll be happy to help.

Fine, but if ten million people come to the same conclusion, that's ten million times x number of games that aren't being paid for, decreasing chances of future productivity and quality. Selfish.

Besides, it's against board policy anyway.

LucasArts, he's making a joke. Humour is lost on some people. [face_plain]

It wouldnt be my fault they did it...

No, but you're doing it openly, you're ADDING TO THE PROBLEM and it's BREAKING THE LAW! Don't ask how to do it here.

Im not justifying pirating or anything... or maybe i am, but not trying to... anyway, they spend a million or ten(I have no direct estimate) dollars to make this game, and then it costs about 40 or so dollars for us to buy it. millions of people are gonna buy it, so the figures add up to a lot more money than they spend, comes right back to them again.
Were at the bottem of the chain here. One person or Ten Million really WOULDNT cause too much turmoil.

Well... maybe ten million, but not all people DO do that.

Its Throne of Darkness (Sierra). Why would i go to LA?

If you think game companies regularly manage to sell even one million copies of a hit game, you better go check your figures. Don't ask how to pirate software here.

EDIT: Throne of Darkness??!?!!? Why would you even want to pirate that game? =P

I know 5 people who tried to copy this game or use it on warez.

I myself, choose not to condone thier actions, they are blithering idiots.

If I know 5 people, and someone else knows 5 people, and someone else knows 5 people and so on, and so on, and so on.

Result, Large amount of people with pirated copy of game.

Result, LA have to have pay cuts due to loss of capital.

    Result, LA sack Justin Chin.

Result, Justin Chin becomes a lowlife who gets little respect.

Result, due to bitterness, Chin starts a campaign against LA.

Result, having to condone to his actions, LA put the Dark Forces series on indefinite hold.

Result, Mourning. Girls Cry. Men Weep.

No matter how much you wish to make the corporate giants the enemy, IT IS STEALING! If you don't pay for the game, that's $40 or whatever you have not paid to the people who made it. If you take a product or service without paying the asking price for it, you have broken a contract and are a thief.

well then i must owe over 80 dollars worth of borrowed games.

Listen people(Corleone and Solo) if i cant get it to work, hes just gonna borrow it and play with the original copy. Im sorry, but i could care less that they just lost about 40 bucks. They can make more, and im not turning them into the badguys, just relating some info I think might be true.

It doesn't MATTER what you THINK. It isn't a matter of opinion; by using/distributing software without paying for each copy, you are BREAKING THE LAW. And the last thing TF.N needs is more legal trouble just because some geezer's trying to advocate piracy in the forums!

Granted, it's not likely, but it is against the rules. Stoppit.

Hey Corleone, by any chance do you make games yourself? You seem kinda getting personal on this topic. And not that im not even considering you, but, im not gonna tell a friend to stop ruining the market for sellers just because a few people on the internet said to stop.
    Sorry, but... sorry.

Well, I'd recommend aquiring Nero Burning Rom. It will copy almost anything regardless of whether the disk is copyrighted or not. Great for the back-up purposes you've mentioned. I'm always losing my disks, so I usually dole out a few copies of my games to friends so that they can look after them for me. ;)
