Calling on all musically-inclined fans to enter the 'Cantina Band' contest!

Fans at Celebration Europe are looking to find a band, solo artist or motley crew worthy of being crowned the Celebration Europe Cantina Band by performing the ultimate piece of Star Wars inspired music!
If you've got what it takes to write something worthy of performance in Jabba's Palace or the Mos Eisley Cantina, you could find yourself playing live on stage in front of adoring Star Wars fans at Celebration Europe in London on July 14th 2007.

You can see the story here on TOS!

    ANCHORHEAD MUST WIN!!!

    THEY MUST!!!

Seriously, Anchorhead own all other SW bands just by the sheer fact that they play John Williams scores Death Metal style on 8 string guitars.

    See?

    Obviously the best choice :p

I always liked the Fader Gladiator track Battle of the Planets (as feature on the tv show Spaced) which sampled the Imperial March and can be found here:

Dammit, Anchorhead are in third :(

Well, that's why. You can vote as often as you want. Looks like Darth Elvis and the Jazz Band have used that method.

Hmm I looked earlier and elvis had 300 votes and the nearest runner up was jazz with about 20 votes, definitely some cheating going on :/

Hi all my Friends, i'm Maxrebo and i'm in the competition as Jazz Flute.
I'm well know in the SW community and Jazz ambient that's because the Huge amount ov votes. ( my sites are www.maxrebo.org and http://www.jazzflute.net )
Talking about music my preferences goes both to anchorhead , great techinques and amazing detailed transcription of most of the orchestral parts, and Sixteen feets, great ideas and VERY difficult 'acappella rendering , both of them deserve my votes!
If you like jazz you can vote for me of course noone will be offended ...:)
May the force be with you!

Congrats on getting to the final Maxrebo! Not a jazz fan myself, but tis an impressive version of the theme :)

They definitely should have some system to stop people repeatedly voting though, i see that all you've gotta do is hit the refresh button and it counts as another vote. No fair! :(

Haha, looks like they've fixed it and taken out all the repeat votes. There were about 50000 votes last time I looked, now there're only 2000 :p

I managed to get onto the website before everything dissappeared, listened to all of the acts I have to say I loved the whole idea of Darth Elvis!!!

I think everyone was guilty of the multiple voting in order to try and chase the massive Jazz Flute repeat votes there had been.

I hope they reset it so it's much fairer.

My vote is with Darth Elvis!!!!!

Hope to meet him when I go to the convention in under two weeks!! Whoop whopp!!!

All the entries are good - lots of effort has gone into this. I'd have to go with originality on this one. Richard and Hayley's one is really funny, but I had to go with the metal one for sheer effort! The jazz one is ok, but not an altogether original concept or arrangement I'm afraid. Terry Trotter's Sketches on Star Wars immediadtely springs to mind: http://www.amazon.com/Sketches-Star-Wars-Trotter-Trio/dp/B00000150S (sorry - you're good band though).
