Wow, I didn't know you were his escort on Thursday! Well, I'm glad he seemed OK with me taking a photo with him at the Pier in San Francisco on Friday (if I'd read this thread before that I wouldn't have asked him for a photo!). He seemed very happy that the 501st members came out each day to support him. I think the big conventions can be overwhelming - even for seasoned celebs like Mr. Prowse who have probably been doing personal appearances for a while. I mentioned to him at Pier 39 that I was glad he came out to SF because CIV was so busy I never had a chance to meet him there. He said something to the effect of 'Yes, it was a mad house.' I don't want to say that is a direct quote, but something to the effect of it was VERY busy and full of people. And I do remember he even requested at the 501st mixer that people not take photos of him... as I recall it was because he was using his cane and didn't want that in photos.

I'm hoping I can eventually get the G4 coverage of C4. I was so stressed out getting ready for the convention I forgot to set our DVR to record their coverage

A friend of mine just told me she spotted me in TIME magazine! Page 20, June 11th 2007 issue. It's a really small photo and just the side of my face, I'm surprised she noticed I was one of the three Leias

Well, I only bought 2 copies. One for myself and one for my friend SisterSola who I was hanging out with most of the time since she asked for one. The photo is really small! Eh, I didn't really accomplish anything. I was in the right place at the right time, and lucky enough to be one of the Leias invited to participate in the G4 skit (so press was hanging around).

Oh, you can give me the photos at the meeting. I won't have time to get to the photos Matt and Robert gave me this weekend anyway, because I'm still processing all the photos David and I took! It is a chore, because I'm cropping them all and making lighting adjustments on nearly all of them. The light in the lobby really was not ideal for photos because there were strange shadows (yet the camera was fooled into thinking it was bright enough not to need a flash). Then there were all those great costume contest photos that had to be taken without flash, so those required major tune-ups. Um, the 501st photo shoot also had bad lighting! LOL!

SF FAN FORCE CIV PHOTOS

OK, I cheated slightly and there are some Son of Suns photos that were not taken on Sunday... so please don't nit-pick on the daily break downs. I had thousands of photos to go through I had not originally intended to break the page out by day, but then I saw I had so many sub categories it needed to be divided up somehow. Otherwise if you catch typos or something let me know and I'll fix them.

I don't see some of my pics there, like most of the props and costumes from Pirates 3, some from the movie marathon, the Sons Of The Suns group photo (in costume), maybe one or two from the Opening Ceremonies, and one of me and Monique (femme Anakin) on Sunday.

 

I forgot to ask, but did anyone take pictures of the Pink Five panel when Robert, Dale and myself got on stage?

 

Matt, a lot of your photos were blurry and out of focus. (Flash! use the flash guys! Hold the camera really steady too and allow the auto focus to lock in by depressing the shutter half way - etc.) And make sure your camera settings are right (some were really compressed and grainy, something I don't usually see from your photos) I used my best editorial judgment. I'm trying to keep some level of professional integrity to the web site For example, I picked the best of the Son of Suns photos and left out blurry duplicates. I used more of Ming's Pirates prop photos because he used the flash and they were in focus. I weed out a lot of my own photos too when they are out of focus or too dark to really see anything. Our Fan Force album is HUGE, I had to try to choose the best of what was given to me. I left in some blurry photos when it was you with a celeb and that was the only one you had. I chose the best of your Slave Leia photos. If you want to post all the other out of focus pictures maybe upload them to a personal photo bucket account? I deleted quite a few of my group Leia pictures, omega Wing pictures, and random archive photos to make our own album slightly more manageable for people to surf. If they want to see ALL my photos, they can go to my Image Event account.

Nobody gave me any other Pink 5 photos. Maybe Rachel has pictures (she mentioned she would make prints, and we could then take a look to see if there were any photos that would be good for the web site.)

 

I unfortunatly did not get a pic of you guys up on stage. I would not have been at a good angle anyway. But you guys are welcome to look at my photos and see if there are any you want copies of. I also showed Matt and Dale that I found the negatives I took at the The Art of Star Wars exhibit in 1994. They are in black and white but good. If anyone wants copies, let me know. I can bring them all to HP if you want, since that will probably be the next time I see all of you.
