If I find someone to room with at one of the nearby hotels, I might be able to pull it off.

You can get hotel rooms for less than $100 a night?

That would be a yes on the motel room, but it's 6 miles away cause they're driving.

    183, right?

By the way, I just got a travelocity alert with flight offers starting at $165, excluding taxes and additional fees. I'm registered with them and have the alert set up, so just going there and looking at the prices may not be the same. The alert tells me when the destinations of my choice go down $25. Ya may want to check that out. Also, I've heard Cheap Trips has good prices too, but I think you have to pay $100 to have access to their services. But they give you a $100 voucher for your next flight, so it's like you're getting access for free anyway. With the prices available, even for hotel and flight, I keep hoping I may get away with staying closer to the airport and just bussing it over to the convention center. All this talk keeps me wanting to try and shoot for it.

You realize that the convention center is like, close to 25 miles from the airport?
    (I think)

Just checking...cause the expense it would take to get to and from the hotel by the airport would wind up making it the same as just staying closer to downtown?

Just a thought....I could be wrong.

I called the convention center before I hit the Post Reply button, and the gentleman told me it was about 15 or 16 miles away from the airport. I do prefer to stay by the convention center, but I wasn't betting on an available place by the time I managed to book a place. Now if I'm wrong and I end up along with the others and able to afford it, I'm perfectly fine with that. I'm just preparing for what could... or should I say, could not... be. I've thought about asking around online for someone to split expenses with, but I'm just afraid, even if it's not the other person's fault, that it may fall through and I'd be left with no place to stay. Talk about a bad situation. By the way, has anyone purchased a ticket and booked a block room? If so, what's the price on the block room?

Bought the ticket (think it says so in here somewhere.)

Have a block room at the Wilshire Grand with Force_Conduit, 2 of his friends, Kysntar and Adakar.
(which is more than we're supposed to have in that room already).

Most of the con hotels (I assume thats what you mean by block room) are taken or whats left is like what we have on the
"Executive Floor" (limited access to keyholders and stuff like that)...but, there may be something left.

If you want to volunteer, there are rooms in the volunteer block at the Holidy Inn Convention Center that will be available for volunteers, but thats 4 people to a room and from what I understand....you room with other volunteers...

So, you could go that option. Don't know what the price is though....

Anyway, Hope that helps you a bit.
