Suzi, did you book your rooms at the Ibis online or did you phone??

The website says no rooms are available during CE. Also, aren't the rooms for 2 Adults only, or are you being a bit crafty?? ;)

I booked online ages ago and recieved a confirmation e-mail, but I'll ring them at some point soon just to double check that they've still got the booking....and yes, I'm being crafty [face_mischief]

Just a quick tip from a friend over on one of the other boards, who tried to book at the Custom House Hotel today (its practically next to ExCel) - he found that when he phoned directly they said that they were full....however - when he tried to make the same booking via Expedia he got his booking all fine!!!! http://www.expedia.co.uk

Worth a try if anyone is stuck?

Hotel booking agents are notorious for taking huge chunks of accomodation and selling them theirselves....worth a try, even if sometimes it can be a little more pricey....

    Thanks Suzi :)
Well done on booking early, a very wise move and hopefully they will still honour your booking.

Thanks for the head's up Jase. I had a look at Custom House on activehotels.com and they also had rooms available, so I will go for that one I think. I'm guessing the show's organisers have also booked out the Ibis, Travel Inn and Ramada, the most local hotels. Ah well, us fans are always made to suffer so why should these so called 'fan events' be any different :p ;)

Just rang Ibis Excel to check my booking and they only had one room for me, but this has now been changed to two! The rooms I have are also doubles (I had booked twins) so it's good to know that their online booking system works(!). It's still the same price as I'd booked originally, so it's nice to see that one thing actually stayed the same!

People who are staying here- it may be wise to give them a ring and double check your booking!

Thanks for the update Suzi. Sounds like the Ibis have had a techy problem (rats eating the wires no doubt :p ). I've just booked two twin rooms at Custom House for Sat night, and will phone up next week to confirm that though, just incase the same rats return ;)

    Hi guys,

jumping on the bandwagon a bit late here but I definatly want to go to this, I can probably crash at a relatives in London though. I will be able to drive down 4 people if anyone needs a lift?

    What's the latest on tickets?

    Hi Eddie

    Great to see you dude!

Tickets for CE - you can buy them here

As far as travel goes, I think most of us will be going down by train and buying train tickets for the cheapo rate of £20 return. You can only buy these 3 mths in advance though so I expect this to get sorted out here on the boards in early May time. Again, most of us are staying for 4 nights from Thu to Sun inclusive so we will be heading down on the Thursday. I think Nige is going down just for the one day though?

Parking and travel in London is always a nightmare and not cheap (parking at the hotel is £10 per day, add fuel costs and it makes sense...) so we will rely on the train me thinks....

Hope this helps, would be great to have you in the Northern possee [face_peace]

How many days are you planning to go for?

With regards to the train tickets, I'm happy to try and buy the tickets for those of us travelling from Ncle/Durham/Darlo so we can get seats in the same carraige....just a suggestion.....

I can't speak for the rest of the NE lot, but I was thinking it'd be good to get to London mid-afternoon on the Thurs......?

For those of us coming down from the NE on the train, who will be getting on where (i.e. Ncle, Durham, Darlo stations)?? If I'm going to try and get a group of tickets together, it might be worth me knowing where people will be getting on!
