Hello All...I forgot to mention this at our meeting yesterday...David and myself are looking to get a couple of roommates for C3. We are staying at the Hyatt which is connected to the convention center via skywalk. Most of the 501st volunteers are staying here as well (if I am correct the 501st/FF party will be here also). I booked the room from the 04/20 - 04/25 (convention is 04/21 - 04/24). If anyone is interested in sharing with us let me know.

Hello!

Thought I would drop by and let everyone here know that I'll be leading a caravan of fool-... I mean, fans from Denver to CIII this year, and if you would like to join us, you are more than welcome. It's an easy 2 days drive from Denver, and we plan to make the best use of the time it takes us to get there by whipping one another up into a furious frenzy of fanaticism along the way. INFO REGARDING TRAVEL DISCOUNTS FOR STUDENTS/YOUTH

I started PMing links to the thread where I got this (on another board), but thought this might be a better use of my time. For those interested, here's the original thread

[blockquote]STUDENTS = high school, community college, university and graduate students
ISIC Card = International Student ID Card

YOUTH = ANYONE age 25 and under
IYTA Card = International Youth Travel Association Card

TEACHER = teachers within the school systems - primary, secondary, college, etc.
ITIC Card = International Teacher ID Card

School employees - I'm still looking into this - I get different answers everytime. But, hey, since you know me... I'm sure we can get something worked out. Afterall, I will be attending the Tempe, AZ campus of Yale this year...

What is this, you crazy woman!?!?

I work at STA Travel - a student travel agency here in town. Many of you have probably seen the STA Office on Mill Ave. Yes, that's the company. That's not *where* I work (I'm actually in corporate offices at Elliot and Hardy), but same company.

Why should you care???

Because with the above-mentioned card(s), you are eligible to travel anywhere in the world for CHEAP! I kid you not. I've seen one-ways to London for $149, and round-the-world tickets for $2000 (tickets that normally sell for $8K and up).

What do you need??

Proof of your enrollment at your school for an ISIC card, proof of age for an IYTA card, OR proof of teaching/employment at a school.

This covers a VERY large chunk of the PFF, if memory serves. The cards can be used ANYWHERE in the world, so long as you have accompanying government issued ID (driver's license, passport, or even state ID). TONS of hotel chains offer discounts as well, as do car rental companies.

So, if you need to travel - ANYWHERE, ANYTIME - tell me! I can get you hooked up with a kick-ass agent (I know a couple on the sales floor who are VERY cool), and we can keep you from selling your car and/or earthly possessions to travel.

There are those instances where I can book your travel too, but I don't know as much as the agents do, since I'm a lowly Travel Help agent (I get you out of ticketing and date-change messes).

So, this benefits EVERYONE!

And just in time for Celebration 3 planning...
How would i get the ISIC card?

Call and tell them you want one. Or visit [link=http://www.isic.org]www.isic.org[/link]. They have a search feature that lets you find issuing offices. I just looked in Phoenix, though, and they only pulled up one location, which I know is wrong (there's more), so it's worth checking several different cities/areas, or even calling travel agencies.

You can call STA at 1-800-777-0112, and they'll set you up with a card too.[/blockquote]

staggered. Registration for members of the 501st and Rebel Legion
will begin on January 1. On January 14, registration will begin for
FanForce. Many FanForce members are also members of the 501st and/or
Rebel Legion, hence the reason those two group will register first.

registration time arrives. //emperor

the right line to get in quickly and easily. If you are members of
more than one group, you'll need to line up with the group you
registered with.

If you pay by money order, you must send your name, address and city

A poster on the RS boards said that an inside source he knows claims the exclusive C3 figure will be a holographic Vader with light-up base so that the figure glows. Still just a rumor for now, but an interesting idea. We'll see how it pans out.

Hey guys, my friend and I need some help. We want to go to Celebration III, but all the information we can really find deals with the price of the registration.

Anyone have any tips as to lodging and transportation? We've never been to a convention such as this, so we have some questions that may seem pretty novice like. I know the convention is a four day event, but how long each day? Are you guys there all day generally? What do you do when your not at the convention?

EDIT: I am also interested in getting one of these student ISIC cards..i'll be checking out the website for those.
