    Yep, you're right. Apparently I can make a living on ebay!

    And I can spell correctly, punctuate correctly, and use proper grammer, too. Meaning my ads will look a lot better.

    And I can sew, not sow.

    I should get busy!

    Celebration II - 2002

    Just to whet our appetites! [face_mischief]

    I checked tonight and I have enough Marriott rewards points for 4 nights at the Marriott Indianpolis Convention Center (if its not blacked out!!!!). [face_very glad] But I can't reserve until April. :( I can block rooms meeting style though, so I'll look into that tomorrow.

    Well, I checked. I can book now, but have to have 10 rooms or more. One of them can be a suite. The ONLY way to get a suite without waiting until a month before is to get it through a group. Do we have enough people going to get 10 rooms? I can count Ben, any Starbucks folks - whatever, but would need to be firm that they are going. Corp. rate is $239.00 (ouch), but be prepared to pay close to that anywhere that is even close, without having to drive and park everyday. Let me know! :)

    Of course we can do it on our own, and just go whereever. I'll be staying here, because I can stay on my rewards (it appears anyway).

    Picture #158 of the picture viewer in that C II link = WHOA! [face_shocked]

    Tim and I want a room, so that's 1.

    And that pic #158 reminds me of the Vader costume they had at the Barbican exhibition a few years back.

    Do you get a discount for booking en masse?

    If I'm reading correctly, the corp rate is discounted, but we need at least 10 rooms....is that right?

    There are several folks from Starbucks planning to attend - I'll see if they want to hook up with our rooms.

    The 501st and RL folks will be in costumes, Ben....can you handle it? 8-}

    I think so, I may actually get a little better rate, but I'm not going to get my hopes up. We get to book right now, which is good. One room would be a suite with a room connected to it. (Separated with a door, not like MSC) I have a diagram of it.

    We can get 9 rooms with double beds and then the suite. I use a card to hold the rooms, but then everyone would need to pay with their own cards when we get there or maybe call before hand - don't know how that would exactly work. If not I would have to eat it. We don't want that to happen. [face_mischief] What I'll do is get a rooming list (you give me your name and I have that at the front desk of the hotel). One way we can do is it have you call the hotel and give your card number before hand. We'll figure that out if we decide to do it, but come thenext couple of weeks, LFL and GenCon will start talking rooms and then the game changes. I need to figure out if they will let me have my rewards room. I can do this as early as today... Here's a link to the hotel...it has a catwalk to the Convention center and we'd never have to go outside.

    //puts hand up

    Tim/Trace, how will you getting to wherever it's being held, plane or car? If I'm going to spring for flights and a hotel, I'd want to stay for more than however long C3 is, so a roadtrip to or from Memphis might be interesting.

    Ben: We're doing a roadtrip from Memphis. (Moreso a caravan, considering the number of folks we'll have going.) Just remember that it'll be about a 10-hour trip....

    ....in a car...

    .......with a bunch of geeks who like to wear SW costumes.....

    Sure you can handle it? :p

    "...Moreso a caravan..."

    More like a convoy, hopefully!

    Ben, it'd be great to have you visit. We'll have to take you downtown at least one night and visit the pubs!

    BTW- I'm going to be doing a road trip/convoy to Metropolis this summer/June. If anyone wants to go we'll be heading out on a Saturday morning and coming back later that afternoon. It's about a 2 1/2-3 hr drive each way. The Superman Celebration doesn't cost anything to attend. You just may want to bring some money for food, souvenirs, museum addmission, and any extra to kick in for gas if you ride with someone. You can see shots from previous ones at MSC Online.

    Tim, can we make this a sticky? It would probably be a good idea. We'll need to keep checking back in for planning and to not let the conversation go too far off on a tangent, so those coming from Planet Jedi don't have to wade through many posts to get to info.
