We all already know there's gonna be a Celebration IV!

We don't yet know where it is though!

Actually, we don't 'know' for total sure... and this is the first public annoucement of C4 so far. We know they are looking around, but until they officially annouce anything there's not guarantee.

 

Well Steve Sansweet has told MANY of us unofficially there will be more Celebrations. And so has Mary Franklin. Considering these are the two "masterminds" of the event, I think it's safe to assume that we are indeed having Celebration IV in 2007.

Vegas is VERY unlikely. Due to the family friendly nature of Star Wars, I doubt they would hold it in Sin City.

 

Well, I'm hoping for San Diego. Indy was cool, but can't handle the throngs of SW folks. On the other hand, Vegas does have some appeal. The Convention Center, particularly, has enough space, and there's plenty of good lodging options. Besides, it's definitely got that cantina-in-the-desert thing going on. After all, "you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy." How appropriate.

 

San Diego said they don't want it. They want to be known for Comic Con.

That, and the whole "people-wearing-masks-carrying-prop-weapons-walking-into-casinos" thing probably doesn't go over well with security...

 

I dunno, Creation (kack) does a huge Trek con there every year, at the Hilton this year, and that has LOTS of people running around in costumes. It's not just the hotels after all, there are SEVERAL convention centers of varying sizes that could handle it easily.

I'm hoping for Anaheim, TOTALLY close by, and with the all-important tons-of-hotels-in-every-price-range aspect... LA would be great, but the self (let alone valet) parking in the hotels is such a psychotic amount per day that it would make sleeping on the street a bargain by comparison...

LOL Nice to know that someone else has the same opinion of Creation (MAJOR Kack) that I do. They just about ruined conventions for the rest of us.

 

Besides, as far as weapons are concerned in Vegas, it's, uh, legal to carry there...

LA is my vote!!! Then we could go. Anything further with young children to drive with will make it less than worth going, and don't get me started on flying.

/\ Comic Con will always be held in San Diego. There are other "comic conventions" held in other cities across the country yearly, but none are international nor do they attract such a large attendence.

 

We have a comic con in london I do not know what size crowds they attract I do know carrie fisher will be at the one this year.

 

San Diego campaigned hard for it. Not sure where you got this idea.

 

This is a perpetual rumor that seems to go around like some kind of SF Bird Flu -- I've heard the same 'rumor' every year for the past 10, at least. But it is indeed getting huge-r and huge-r every year... I remember the first one, in the lowly hotel ballroom, with well under 2000 people attending. So old, so very old I am...
