There has been a mention of a Celebration IV convention for the future in a recent article posted on the official site. Excerpt below:

Now we're just waiting on a date and location. Those of you planning to attend, start saving up! Also, thanks to Chris (DarthLucanas), who posted about this on the Foxboro board.

There's alot of talk about this possible convention going on over on the rebelscum.com boards. The biggest debate of course is where it could possibly be held. There have been some heavy rumors of late that if LFL decided to have it in 2007 for the 30th anniversary that Indy may be out of the running. Pulling up the Indy Convention Center's calendar shows pretty much all of April & May book solid. Other locations being thrown out include Dallas, San Diego and Las Vegas (Yeah, Baby!)

I guess there is a very strong possibility that Stephen Sansweet will be releasing any official confirmation at this year's Comic Con in San Diego.

I'm really hoping that they'll announce something sooner than the end of July at Comic-Con. That gives folks less than a year to plan if CIV takes place in May 2007.

I would definitely like to know before July as well. If I go I would probably check out the possibility of voluteering. I have also read that Anahiem and San Fran are other locations getting thrown out there. I was kinda hoping it would be in Indy, because I like the city and know my way around. But if it can't be there than they might as well have it somewhere warm. lol

you can cancell LAS VEGAS .. as it is NOT a " FAMILY ORIENTED " enviornment and all ....

Personally I think if they dont have it in Dallas.. I hope for California... either way . START SAVING NOW PEOPLE !!!!!

From what I have been told Vegas is more family oriented than most people think. I wouldn't mind it being there. My wife would actually come and go to the casinos and other locations near.

Some of the Cali locations wouldn't be bad, especially near LA or Disney would be fun. I prefer Indy or Chicago though. Both old stomping grounds for me.

Personally, I'd LOVE to see C4 in Vegas. Lots of hotels available at pretty reasonable prices. Lots to do when the convention isn't open, and because my wife is DYING to go back to Sin City, it's probably th only way I'm going to get to go.

The reason Justin gave for C4 not going to Vegas is completely valid. They don't call the place Sin City for nothing. While at one time they were gearing themselves more towards families, that has started to swing back to a focus on Adults only. Another factor is that I can't see Lucas/LFL putting a convention in a location where there is alot of competition for the attendees dollar.

Part of the reason the originally chose Indy was that it was easy to reach from pretty much anywhere in the continental US. Moving it out to SoCal pretty much alienates the entire country east of the Mississippi River. If Indy is truly out of the running, I'd have to believe they'd go to either Dallas, another Texas location, or maybe Chicago?

I wouldnt mind seeing it in Vegas either. NYC is out of the question since the Javits center is too small and there are hardly any hotels within distance of the center. LA/Anaheim & SD would be cool.

Rumor reported on the TF.N homepage:

    "Celebration 4 in the L.A. Convention Center, May 24th to 27th 2007"

Please take this with a grain of salt, as for now it is PURE RUMOR. Nothing is official until Lucasfilm makes the announcement. Speaking of the announcement, it's also rumored that the news above will be announced sometime next month.

L.A. might be good, but I don't like long flights. At least if you want to play some poker on the side while you're there, I believe the Bicycle and Commerce casinos (World Poker Tour venues) are in the area. :D

Every bit of source over at the 501st forum is pointing the LA news to be accurate. Ray Park's manager said so at first, and one member talked to someone at the LA convention center over the phone, and "Star Wars Celebration" was slotted in May. I would start scoping out hotel and plane prices now :)

For right now I am taking rumors as rumors. I wouldn't mind going to LA, but I am not sure if I will. It's not because I don't like big cities that is far from it I used to clown around Chicago all the time in college and was used to it. I am just not sure I want to pay the prices it will cost for hotels. Plus cab fair if you have to go back and forth from the hotel to the convention center. I really don't want to rent a car because who knows what the parking situation will be. My flight will be free for the most part thank god I fly often. lol

Forgot we had a C4 thread, didn't you Wormie? [face_laugh]

Anyway, Wormie posted this on the Foxboro board, so I felt it worthy to post here...

Looks like you'll be able to order tickets for C4 starting Monday. Price will be fairly steep, though...four-day adult pass is $110.

L.A, is too far, but I'll make it to SMF.
Yesterday was a very slow day, so I drew this Vader picture on the Mac:
