Well, they certainly could but I think that wouldn't be the best decision. The vendor turnout was proof alone that LA wan't the best choice in convention spots. But wherever it is, I will almost certainly be going, barring some serious event. While I can see them not choosing Indy again, I would be surprised if it wasn't in a new location, even if in California. There was just nothing to do down there unless you had convenient transportation to another part of LA with a pulse :)

Heck yeah! It will be fun no matter where it is :D

I still wonder about the east coast though. They still haven't had one there yet. I would imagine they will release more details tomorrow since it's Star Wars day at Gen Con. Too bad G4 won't air it till Saturday, but i am sure if there is info it will be tweeted somewhere long before regular news channels.

I also hope that where it is, they will wait till the summer so more kids can go(and parents with them). Spring isn't bad, but I knew a few people who weren't able to go specifically for that reason.

I am all giddy, just hoping to hear a little more.

Much thanks for the news Eric!

If it is CA again, then again, I will just wave hi from here.

If it is South, Let's say Dallas, I might be tempted, but not in the summer.

If it is South East, like Atlanta (not Florida), then I might go.

If it is, East Coast, New York area, I am pretty sure I will go.

If they loose their minds and make it INDY,
then I may have to move in with someone in INDY[face_laugh]

I might actually go if it's in LA in 2010. Would definitely go if it were Indy or Chicago or something.

Well, even with them taking 2010 out, they aren't going to run a promotion for an event more than a year or so away.

    Small update.
Steve Sansweet has in fact confirmed CV for 2010 during the Star Wars Spectacular, but he did not give any details on the location or specific date.

It's rough when the city is in a valley. It only took me a couple days to get used to the smog, I just didn't care for the migraine it produced hehe. If they did have it in California again, I would really like it to be in another part. My single biggest complaint about the LA convention center is that it was so isolated and the hotels were so far away. It made transporting things very cumbersome, and it wasn't a easy walk back to your rooms. And then I really wanted to be able to do other things in the evening, but there was nothing around. I think the other problem with LA is the income level is higher and I got to do a lot less for the money and I got a lot less.

I can see it now... Las Vegas. As bad as LA is about cost, it doesn't hold a candle to Vegas. Plenty of stuff to do though, but ten dollars for a bagel and coffee was a little steep for me.

I probably would have went to Celebration Japan had they announced it a year in advance :D

That's funny...of all the problems the smog has ever given me, a headache hasn't been one of them. Now, the asthma...that's another story.

Downtown (where the Convention Center is) isn't really in a valley so much...at least not like the San Fernando Valley. But, you're definitely right about the lack of things to do near the Convention Center. BUT...it has gottena lot better since the last time everyone was out here. They built a bunch of restaurants and stuff near the Staples Center, which is right next to the Convention Center. So, there are more options in that regard. But, definitely difficult to get stuff back to the hotels as well.

Also, right on about the income level being higher and thus prices of everything being higher as well. I just know the whispers are talking about LA because of the convenience for the stars, guests, etc.

Well, just got home from a little weekend trip to Wisconsin,
to find the G4 broadcast of Star Wars at Comic-Con

and Steve Sansweet saying that next summer is when C-5 will be,
    somewhere in the U.S.

after that, he only indicated that they are working on the details,
and do not yet have it "Nailed Down"

But that it would be posted on Star Wars dot com................

It is my guess, that it all pivots on costs and competiting sites and where LFL can
get the most bang for their buck.

It is not beyond the possibility that this also involves Mayors as large conventions
bring much needed revenue to where ever they occur and in these economic times,
many cities need all the help they can get.

Another reason why I think it will be LA; California is on the verge of total financial disaster. The convention being in LA would bring a LOT of much-needed cash to the city.

I think Lucas is already got a plan to help California,

After watching (via TIVO) Anthony Daniel's presentation
At the Star Wars Comic-Con Panel,

    He announced this concert series,

    http://www.starwarsinconcert.com/

and most of them occur in California,

and all are really west coast, at this time,

so unless more are announced later,

looks like are freinds in CA, will have the best chance at
seeing this........and from what I saw of the trailer, it looks awesome!
