    Let the battle begin!

I've asked Paul to let us know how many items we collected last time so we can take a running total of our donations throughout the year. A few cans here and there don't seem like much, but a year from now when we look back we will be able to see how many needy families we helped feed. Remind me to take a count of tonights items!

I love it! I don't know who all Tony has talked to, but he was talkin' smack to me last month and I got this hunch that he wasn't bluffin. It will be interesting to see for sure.[face_devil]

Approximately 40 pounds of groceries last month and exactly
106 pounds of groceries this month.

This time I actually went into the foodbank and dropped off the packages.
I got a little tour of the facility. The place is amazing. Today they were loading up food for children that depend on school lunches (a lot of the times, it's their only meal). This holiday there are 4 days without school in a row. That's 4 days without food.

One pound of groceries feeds around one person one meal.

That's about 150 people, that the Richmond Fanforce helped feed. Thank you guys.

The volunteer there was telling me that the summer months are the hardest to get food for. So lets try to keep this going throughout next year. Always looking for peanut butter and canned fruit.

    You guys and gals rock.

    -Paul

Fantastic! Great statistics Paul. It is great to be able know the impact we can have on others in our community.

For Thanksgiving today, Tracey, the kids and I will be at the Richmond coliseum serving Thanksgiving meals to those who need them.

I certainly plan to keep collecting at our monthly meetings and/or events. Let's not forget to bring items to the Holiday Party at James house.

I agree, just grab a can out of the cabinet on the way out, you don't need to go to costco and buy a bunch of bulk items to bring. Every little bit helps, and it doesn't matter what it is really, they will use it.

Still in need of the usuals.

    Also, I noticed this:

    Food Lion "Hunger
    Has a Cure" Food Drive
    June 5 - July 7

It doesn't have to be much, a jar of Peanut Butter, can of Green Beans, whatever.

We have been off on this deal for a little while now. Since we are looking at a traditional style meeting this month let's get this deal going again.

That's right, I'm callin' y'all out! It can be a can or two out of the pantry, every little bit helps here so let's get back on it and see if we can beat our record from last year.

    BRING IT!!!
