Just a reminder...this is one of our biggest events of the year and families are invited. I, myself, will be bringing my 4 year-old with and possibly the girlfriend and her 3 year-old.

    and a reminder...

there is a paved path that can be used with bicycles, in-line skates, running....and just walking...

there is also a full playground there...

We have a shelter with 4 in-ground BBQ grills....these are for our 4 Iron Chefs:

    Mark
    Goat
    Femme
    Me

Besides having great food and fun with your fellow SW fans, we will also have a fire sale on our official Chicago Force t-shirts that day for the LOW-LOW PRICE OF $5.00 each.

I still have no idea what kind of chicken to make for the iron (or tinfoil) chef. Just putting that out there.

After a couple of tries at doing the "chicken pockets" a couple different ways....I found that they all pretty much s*cked...

    soo..

    I grilled everything last night....
and will assemble the pockets as a way to infuse flavor while heating the stuff through..

also will make a few "veggie" pockets..
the grilled zuchini came out pretty awesome...

Thanks to all who came, cooked, and brought stuff....it was REALLY great to see everyone!

I don't get a chance to see a lot of you guys as much as I would like to and the walk that Lionel, Emma, and LilyWan and I took was very pleasant...next year if we have it at Hickory Creek Junction...everyone walks...AND...we will have no "extra people"...

The "extra people" I am speaking of is that "other group" that was at the pavillion thanks to a screw up on the part of the Forest Preserve District of Will County when they issued the permit....I have to take partial blame for it as well....where I did make sure the date was correct...I didn't look at the year...
who knew that on February 20, 2007 I could still reserve a pavillion for July 21, 2006!

I had a great time as well and will post some photos here on Monday.....

    and a special request:

Feedback on the tin-foil packets of food requested...
    good-bad-or indifferent...
    Did the chicken get dry?
Did stuff burn in packets in the re-heat process?
How about the (and I use the term loosely) "Italian" ones with the basil and tomatoes with the chicken...too much basil? too much garlic? tomatoes awful?

I really would appreciate your feedback...:D

Thanks Phyllis for the bbq set-up. I thought the food was great, even warmed up later since I arrived around 3. As usual, a great turnout with friends and fellow fans.

I thought the chicken packets were really good and very filling. The chicken didn't get dry at all.

I had the veggie packet and really liked the po-tay-toes (precious). Everything was great even if we did have to share some space, and the pinatas were the best!
