If I'm not filming that weekend I should be able to come to mingle and say farewell to Dave.

I was trying to figure out how to squeeze in Clone Wars. What's the run-time for entire series front to back? IMDB is no help.

It's 2 hours with both series back to back, Dave. So you're looking at an entire movies worth of cartoons. I'm really not sure how to pull that off, unless it's just playing in the background somewhere else on the Bosh Talk grounds while those who aren't watching the films are mingling.

maybe we don't need to see episode I again? clone wars is way better.

i have kinda low-res DVD versions of two fan edits of the films, Balance of the Force and The Clone War. i'm thinking of trying to get high res versions to show at the picnic, but they change stuff in potentially controversial ways. for example, dooku isn't a sith. so it might not flow so great with the third film you show. BUT it'd be something new and interesting.

We could play the Phantome Drinking Game. Here's how it works.

Anytime the movie sucks you drink! You're gonna need a big glass.

I'd love to see TPM with less Jar-Jar. The movie does kind of rock for those first few minutes until he shows up and then for the duel at the end. A fan edit would be cool, but the FF>> button could do it too.

the version I have is called "balance of the force" and the image is very clear, but the frame rate is slightly jumpy. I think it's very watchable but I'm not sure how it'd look projected.

it's definitely a better film in this version. much less wacky, much tighter, and jar jar and the neimodians are given garbled "alien talk" and subtitles with new dialogue. thus jar jar is different (he uses "hell" and "bastard" a lot) and the neimodians are more murderous and evil.

like I said, definitely not canon, and not sure how well it'd tie into ROTS, but an interesting watch.

i also snagged a really clean print of the Holiday Special, which we have to watch between SW and ESB for the proper continuity.

I also have the original... NON-SPECIAL EDITION.. versions of the original trilogy on DVD. They look pretty good, but the end of ESB is a little wacky, the sound doesn't match up during the last few minutes. Other than that they're good. Lemme know if you wanna use em.

i'll check my pre-SE version of ESB...I think mine checks out. i'll bring it.

we could have a really interesting alternate SW film festival if we wanted to. people will prolly want to watch just the movies, though. plus, stuff we've seen a million times makes far better party background viewing than stuff we've never seen.

If Haz wants to bring his LDs & LD Player again, we can watch the untainted versions in their purist form.

If not, then we may as well watch the new tainted DVD versions. I for one haven't watched ANH or RotJ all the way through in the DVD format.

For MT: You know how in the SE of RotJ Fett checks out the dancers? That really annoys me, just like the use of the word "prolly" annoys me.
