    If he re voiced all of the audio, why does it sound like it was from 40 years ago ? His voice now is completely gravely and different. Unless they somehow altered his voice once he had spoken the dialogue?

    Exactly. ILM pulled him off to such a realistic degree that you forget you're looking at a CG creation, which is their objective.

    K2 is the most realistic CGI character I have ever seen.

    Tarkin was great, in my opinion, considering everything. A bit off, but still great.

    The CGI Leia was more noticeably off....I think she was too pale, wide, and her eyes were wrong.

    Still pretty good, though.

    i think its fine to make someone young again like they did for Leah while Carrie was still alive.... other than that id say no unless it was for a super brief shot, but not to have a main part in the movie...

    Indeed, in a still like that the CGI is flawless!
    I think I read somewhere that either Gareth Edwards or John Knoll said that they first experimented with lighting the character like he was lit in ANH and that he immediately looked better, since that's how we're used to seeing Tarkin, but that the film needed him in a different lighting so they went with that anyway.
    Good choice if you ask me. The smartest thing to do was to light him like they would light Krennic or any other Imperial aboard the Death Star/Star Destroyer. It makes his inclusion feel more organic.

    We are 99% there. The final details are just a little bit of mouth movement, eye brightness, and some small details really.

    All casual viewers I talked to did not notice.

    For EP 8 they had 1 year of post production, I guess that Snoke CGI is going to be very interesting.

    Maybe a new step forward like Gollum was, regarding CGI tech ?

    Yes, it will be interesting to see Snoke in TLJ. I don't much care for the Snoke CG in TFA, but since he's only a hologram in it it's forgiveable - hopefully he will look better 'in the flesh'.

    A couple of the more "casual" fans that I saw RO with thought Tarkin was actually Peter Cushing. (They hadn't known he died,)

    Both Tarkin and Leia looked amazing to me. Leia more-so, because my jaw hit the floor when she appeared on-screen. Absolutely perfect.

    I think whether you agreed with their use or not they were still pretty amazing symbols of how far CGI has come. And who could hate CGI leia=((

    I don't get why anyone would have an issue? Tarkin again...on film...fantastic! I always thought he was the best villain :cool:
