Well of course I am looking at it from Everton's point of view, but nevertheless I believe had Benitez stuck with the method that had beaten Juve and Chelsea, Milan would've had much less opportunity to run riot. A defensive minded Liverpool would probably still be at 1-0 (the first goal was unavoidable). It's not a difference in class (although Milan are a better team) it's that Benitez got his approach all wrong.

 

liverpool seem to be playing the long ball game, and route one football aint gonna win the champ league final, especially against an italian team with possibly the finest defence in europe. and they seem to have forgotten how to defend!
