Hey Rogues there has been a change in venue because Jillian's could not suit certain criteria for a dinner. Also the time of the event has also changed (still Feb. 7th but it's a b-day lunch now instead of dinner) so I hope everyone can still make it! Sorry about the changes guys!:

It's at the Marriott Hotel, 55 Fourth St & Mission,
directly across from Metreon, one block south of the
    Powell St. BART station.

    It's the same day, Sat. Feb. 7 and it's from 11:30 - 2 p.m.

As you enter the lobby, go to your right and take the escalator to the next floor. The restaurant will be on your right. It's still $20 per person, as before, and will include several items, including several salads, soups, and a refillable non-alcoholic beverage. It's also a buffet so feel free to loosen the belts before hand. ;) (a sample menu for that day might be something like: broiled NY steak w/burgundy wine demiglaze, baked salmon w/ horseradish crust, green beans almondine, and garlic mashed potatoes). RSVP is still by the 2nd with Matt taking the payments via paypal @ toschestation@yahoo.com or other forms of payment via check, MO, etc at his mailing addy (PM or reply on this thread if you want that option).

If people come are coming into the City there still might be the Chinese New Years road closures now so I'd reccommend getting here by 10:30am if possible just in case. Also since the time has changed we can talk a while afterwards about future events like WonderCon and Celebration 3 and then checkout the Chanel New Years Parade, I mean Chinese New Years Parade @ 5:30pm!

Alright, I'm gonna have to disappoint some people in another club.....but I am still going to be there, though I suggest we leave at 9:00. Who's still in the Falcon's Escort?

That sample menu sounds amazing! you think 2 1/2 hours is enough for us? I can easily see this lasting until 9 pm. ;)

So far Devin is the only one in my transport who hasn't confirmed the change in time. We could add one more to my car but it would be very tight.

I'd like to see if someone...anyone!...else is willing to drive so that you and Brian can go.

    REMINDER!!!

If you are going to this event (Feb 7th) you need to RSVP by Feb. 2nd and send $20 via paypal to the above e-mail addy or PM me for a physical address to send checks. I will be sending a note to Matt tomorrow including the names of those who have confirmed with me that they are going, it is up to you to send the money!

New parking info. The San Fran people suggest parking at the lot at 5th and Folsom if you are staying more than a few hours, otherwise there is another lot closer to the Marriott.

Pulling this thread back up to the top.

Shasa and Brian, have you arranged transportation? I have three people in my car but I could squeeze one more I think. Let me know TODAY! Post here or e-mail me (bridgetfalcon@yahoo.com) or PM me. Even if you can't send the money in time, you can pay at the event if you have to.

This was a very interesting adventure for the three Rogues who attended.
    Some highlights:
-spending the entire drive to San Fran talking about the fan film in much detail

-navigating the always-fun streets of San Fran in the Falcon's Escort, parking in and then finding the nearly impossible parking garage (impossible is what Rogues do best)

-a wonderful luncheon at the Marriott with good friends and Star Wars geeks including Mary Franklin (editor of Bantha Tracks and Events coordinator for Lucasfilm - WE LOVE YOU!), members of the SFFF, 501st (including our own Hand_Schaub), and Chanel's mother Eva.

-wandering through the Metreon and then fighting the crowds to watch the Chinese New Year's Parade (is it over YET???)

-leaving the parade early and nearly running to Mel's (restauraunt from Lucas' American Graffiti) for a dinner that cost almost more than the entire group of 12 people had on hand.

That basically recaps the entire day. My thanks to Ming and the SFFF for hosting this event. Special thanks to my personal bodyguards (LDV and Hanc) whilst wandering the dark and dangerous streets of San Francisco. And no thanks to the impossible-to-find parking garage which hid my transport from me. :D

It was an awesome day!! Pics soon!!!

"spending the entire drive to San Fran talking about the fan film in much detail"

hmmm..let me see is I can use my powers to figure out some of what was said.

LDV: "That freakin Deadpool is driving me crazy."

    Hawkie: "Don't I know it."

LDV: "He's a sick twisted freak, Nude scenes indeed!!'"

    Hawkie: "That man offends reason."

LDV: "I swear one more re-write and I'll go bald from pulling my hair out."

Hawkie: "But my oh my he is one fine piece of Sith man meat."

LDV: "I know I'm just so jealous..so jealous it hurts."

    Yeah that sounds about right.

Lol... I can understand Mel's position however. Even though it sucked rocks... Damn it, why didn't that waiter win the lotto that night?! We could have that free meal he was braggin about! :) Whatever... I did see all the extra waiters they had to bring in to help that one guy... Ah well.

Anyway! Outside of my own Rogues I was glad to see you Rogues coming out with us too. It was awesome fighter coverage all through out! :)

Next time for Mel's: split up and head to the tables and see if you can get some of the waiters to follow you!

    AND NO TIP! [face_devil]

Yeah it was a great place Ming and even though we did get screwed for the tip, it was awesome flying wingmen/women with the SFFF. Good times people. Cannot wait until Unity.
