Changes to the Games Forum

... and on that note, I think it's time for a change to the forum. JP, time to get rid of that sticky announcment thread. It's been up long enough methinks.

 

SFL makes a good point. I mean I say the Index or FAQ would be better for a sticky. Harder to miss it than the way we have it now.

Just merge threads. Instead of closing them so we have a mass amount of closed threads - merge them into one. I hope that can be done, and if it can't then a new forum program should be considered. Most php-based forums I know of support thread merging.

What you ask is technically impossible at this time on these forums.

By merging threads, we would have even LONGER threads. But you say you don't visit long threads.

As for the "mass amount of closed threads" - I do try and delete the locked ones every month or so to keep the place relatively tidy.

A better idea would be for people to check the index and the 2 search functions before starting new threads.

 

Yes that's why the Index was made a sticky. The Index your ally it is.

 

I think we should have line by line threads for games because a lot of people like them.

 

Some consider those spam. But, how could it work for games?

Nah, it would be with actual dialogue from the games.

I personally think such threads are garbage, but I also prescribe to the belief that as long as it doesn't hurt anybody and people have fun doing it, let it be. Chances are that the thread will sink because nobody to my knowledge has memorized the script to JO or any other SW games.

 

OK, how's this. We can only have ONE L-b-L thread active in the forum at once. And it musy be a LucasArts game.

Also, you cannot spam the L-B-L - meaning no multiple postings. If you do a line, you have to wait until somebody else responds before you can reply again. That goes for socks too.

Thank you to our regular banner designer Obi-Wan_01 who whipped up this little treat to celebrate LucasArts offerings at E3.
