Beyond - Legends Chapter One of "The Deadly Experiment"

When Jacen awoke he immediatly knew that something was terribly wrong; the force, instead of it's usual soothing calm seemed to be churning against itself. He could feel a powerful presence behind the churning, and it was the most powerful dark presence he had felt in his life. Not that he had felt many, because he had spent a long time in the battle against the Yuuzhan Vong, not other dark jedi. He reached into the force again, hoping that the awful churning would be gone, and everything would be normal. His Jedi training reminded him that hoping vainly was not the answer. Then, very suddenly he felt the force start to writhe: It was twitching like a wounded animal. Then, the powerful dark presence seemed to disapate, and the force seemed to give a "sigh of relief" for lack of a better phrase. This powerful disturbance had obviously affected others, because he sensed the other jedi awakening from their sleep, some of the younger ones screeming as they did so. He felt Kyp Durron's presence weaken, so he guessed he had fainted. This was probably because he had been possesed by a spirit of the dark side in his past. But nevertheless he was determined to find out what had caused this strange behavior in the force.... He felt if it went unoticed for to long it could alter all their futures in a very bad way.
