I've started tinkering with Character Studio, and I couldn't figure out the walking. I know you can set down footsteps, I've tried to do that an tthe figure doesn't do anything. Is there s tutorial out there that can show me the light? Please help.

Since biped walk cycles are one of the basic functions of Character Studio,
you might want to check your manual. ;)

Yeah, it's called the help file. Go up to Additional Help under Help in 3D MAX. Click Character Studio.
I'll give it to you real fast though.

    Create your biped
In the motion tab and go to footstep mode
Pick which ever mode you want the character to move, walk, run, jump
    Click Create Multiple Steps
    Enter the amount
Under footstep Operation hit Create Keyframes for footsteps

    That's it!
