There are several of us working on a charter for this Chapter. We are trying to lay down some really simple ideas for organization that include, what is a member (ANYONE with an interest in Star Wars who likes to hang out with other people interested in Star Wars,with restrictions only pertaining to the age and supervision of minors); voting-how do we do it and when? Leadership whether a loose council or a more structured one that outlines the duties and responsibilites of each officer holder and how we select those persons, how long and when, a minor's policy which protects both the chapter and the minor from inappropriate behavior or undue burden of supervision by the Chapter, a code of conduct so that we have some sense of order and so that all members of the Chapter can enjoy a safe and fun environment to play Star Wars in and to minimize chaos. We will have a Chapter Charter that all vote on and approve, line by line so that when it is completed and accepted, everyone will be happy with it. The Charter is not to exclude anyone who wants to share in our Star Wars experience, but to give a general format for safety and reasonable behavior of all members and a means to make decisions on Chapter issues. All the chapters on TFN.net have a basic system of bylaws and leadership so that they can function in a fair, fun and safe fashion. If ANYONE has anything to add to this process, any thoughts or suggestions, please...please either attend the charter meetings or send your ideas to the City Rep or post here with your ideas. This is how we will know what you want. Not a means to boss anyone around or limit anyone from having a good time.
