as discussed in our last meeting....we need a charter....so let's make this a suggestion type thread so we can hammer out details at the next meeting...i'm not a political genius type so i don't know a lot about charters...i'm guessing we are just trying to set up some ground rules/and leadership tiers/roles....we are a new EMPIRE Resurrecting from an old REPUBLIC...there are going to be bumps...

    My Charter Ideas

    Leadership for now...

    Chapter Rep/Dictator (6 month Term) - Aboutasith
this is done by voting every 6 months, i suggest that you can only serve 4 terms(2 years) and can renew your roll(if voted in) after 1 term...but we can have a second group...like a committee(when big enough group...we can have a active member min) that oversees the CR (like our judicary in the USA) so we can impeach our leader or extend his term...

    A Co-CR/Vice president (6 month term)
    when bigger
    can serve forever...i guess

Secretary - Darthsuperbatpooh (6 month term)
i really don't know what a secretary does...i guess keep things moving, take notes, pass info...and help my dictator
again can serve forever, unless impeached

    Treasure (6 month term)
again when bigger and in need of managing funds...maybe even
same as others can serve many times

    MySpace Manager (6 month term) - DK2
    Volunteer appointed...or voting

as far as rules...lets hear suggestions....

I had a look in the CR section for ideas on charter and came accross this.

San Diego's looks like a great example to follow: SDSWS Charter

This is an awesome charter, I think we can work on it to tailor it to our group but it would be perfect.

    What do people think?

As secretary your role is to keep my coffee mug full. [face_coffee] Mooohhahahahah! Seriously though, the SDSWS charter has a good breakdown of the individual roles.

I like the six month rotating unless voted to continue. Sounds good.

I'll play around with the charter, post your ideas in here as Darth says and we maybe at the end of this week I can e-mail everybody the draft and people can then send any suggestions back. How's that sound?

that sounds like a good idea. as far as impeachmet I would say it has to be presented at the same time by at least 4 people in writing and then approved by 3/4ths of the clubthis makes it a pretty difficult system but also ensures that an officer can't be kicked out on a whim.

Stuart- I just read the charter, and I think it's perfect the way it is. I can't think of anything that needs to be added. By the way, you and Mark are doing a great job so far in your new roles leading the IEFF. Things are really happening and you guys are really on top of things. I'm impressed and say "thanks for a great job thus far guys!!!...I think we're on our way to getting this group to really be a group!!

hey, I just pm with kitchenvixen and we discussed the charter. How would you guys feel about not having alcohol at events as well as meetings and putting in the charter no alcohol at events or meetings? I think everyone here would be responsible and I think we're definitely all on the same page about not wanting anyone to get out of hand at events, but I'm totally cool with putting that in the charter... then no one ever has to worry about that situation, especially since we have families & underage people in the club?

    It depends on the majority.

The reason for not putting a total ban on it at events was so we can at times have events for the older members at places, much like other Fan Forces do, where people want to go out and socialise.

Putting a total ban on it would stop us from being able to do this. It's not like this would be a regular occurance but I wouldn't want to totally ban it.

We could put a ban on it for all meetings and events where minors would be present. How about some wording to the effect of banning it at meetings & events except for events specifically for the older members?

I understand what you're saying....that's fine with me. The rest of the charter is very clear about unacceptable behavior so I don't see where anyone would be allowed to get out of hand with their drinking and cause problems, so that should cover all the bases I think. I'm not a drinker myself, I don't have a problem with people drinking, just don't want to be at events where people are drunk. As long as it's announced that the event takes place somewhere where there might be alcohol, then if someone has a problem with not wanting to be around alcohol at all, they can make that decision for themselves whether to attend or not. I think your wording will be good!

Yeah, I'm thinking as the group grows (fingers crossed) we'll be able to have loads of different types oe events. Family Ones, Older Ones and Kids Ones (Such as a kids xmas party with Vader Claus).

Nein. ;) SDSWS is a FF. If it's listed on the fanforce pages, it's a fanforce. :p A lot of groups just choose to go by different names (i.e. San Diego is SDSWS, Seattle is the SSWS, Boise is the New Boise Order, New York is M.E.P.A.).

Sounds like you guys have a great start! :)

HA HA HA, no really though there should be some way of banning a member or whatever if they are causing a lot of trouble. I don't forsee that as a problem but you never know. What if a shakey's stuart got plastered and sexually assulted the waitress or something. NOT THAT HE WOULD BUT YA KNOW. like a 4/5 vote or something to be used when a member repetedly breaks the code of conduict or robs a bank.

Hey, no making fun of people who can't spell. :p

I'll have you know that the IE's first president had (and still has) horrible spelling... and he's a TV star now. [face_laugh]
