Everybody sing it with me now! The Bears Still Suck! Less then 48 hours now. I'm really trying not get myself too hyped up, but its gets more and more difficult the closer it gets. I think by sunday night I'll probably be just leaping everywhere I go instead of walking.
Congrats to 'sey, Darth Dark Helmet, Jedi_Johnson, Armenian_Jedi, and any other Packers fans out here in The Arena on a game well played.
Whoo hoo!! Aaron Rodger brought sexy to the Super Bowl! Congrats Cheeseheads! I think it is entirely possible for them to make another run next year.
i think the power structure in the NFL has shifted a bit, what with the NFC winning the last two SBs, nearly winning the one before that and then the giants winning the one before that. pretty awesome, and definitely enjoyed the game. 'grats pack fans.
Pete Prisco ranks Packers as NFL's best franchise Hard to argue with that with 4 Super Bowl titles, including the current one. But, seriously, nobody gives a crap about "NFL Titles".
That's an ignorant thing to say... they still played a championship game before the NFL-AFL merger. an NFL title was the equivalent to the Superbowl before the Superbowl came along... if MLB merges with another baseball league and the name of the World Series changes, does that negate all of the Yankees titles?
They're never used as a metric for measuring franchise greatness unless we're talking about the Packers. When was the last time you heard the Eagles called the "2-time NFL Champions", or just about any team not named the Packers called the "X-time NFL champions?". I'm not saying they're negated; I said nobody cares about them. Go into a sports bar and you'll find tons of people who can easily tell you how many Super Bowls each franchise has. I'd be surprised if you found a single one who knows much about NFL Titles.
The Bears still talk about theirs. We still have to put up with this as well in Australia with the AFL. Since the 80s the league has changed dramatically, with introduction of interstate teams to the old VFL etc. However we still have to hear about how Collingwood etc won 15 premierships when the league had 8 teams in it.
