O.C, CA Chewbacca and Stormtrooper coming soon to Disneyland...

Yup, you heard right. Just confirmed it with Snow White (no, really). Chewie and at least one Stormtrooper will be wandering around Tomorrowland as atmosphere characters. It's been kept rather hush hush, and there's no real start date for them that I know of... but I wouldn't be surprised to see them walking around June 25th. I think not only the Star Trader has been using the event to get things going. So, only two characters for now... but it's a start! Perhaps soon we shall see Lord Vader getting on the Teacups with two stormtroopers or Boba Fett collecting a bounty from 'Push'.

They probably just need more people for the position. Those costumes can get awefully hot, summer or winter. The positions are probably opening up for the next seasonal session (which I think starts in January), so it's also likely that the seasonal employees that were doing it won't be doing it anymore. They'll either move on to other areas/costumes or maybe they just didn't like it. I'm sure it happens.

I haven't been to the show yet, but something tells me the troopers don't have voiceboxes. One, hearing the characters speak is usually a no no at Disneyland. Two, without voiceboxes men and women can be in the costume and you'd never know it.
