Children's Hospital Event Details & Roll Call!!!!

Okay folks here's the final run down of the details. I would also like everyone who will attend to confirm their attendance in this thread. Thanks!

Gents and Gals, we are all set to visit the kids at The Children's Hospital of Denver for a Halloween treat!

Sabers are okay as well as all of the costumes!

We'll be passing out stickers, so start combing the stores for SW stickers. If everyone pitches in, it will be a minor investment on everyone's part.

Details
Where: The Children's Hospital of Denver, 19th & Park Ave, Denver.
When: Oct. 27th @ 4PM
What: Passing out stickers, taking pictures and visiting w/ the kids & their families (all in costume).

We will be parking in Lot 3 (it should be free but they will reimburse us if it isn't) and meeting at the information desk @ 3:30PM to get everything set up.

They will have all of the kids who can come down to the lobby to meet w/ us, have their pictures taken if they want, and get some stickers. After that we will be split up into groups (depending on turn out) and start to walk the wards w/ a volunteer guide.

There will be some additional guidelines discussed before the event itself.

This should be a unique and wonderful experience for all involved!

Stickers are ordered & should be here sometime next week or the one after after (8-10 days for shipping).

We will have 432 indivual SW Scene Stickers. However, we'll need to have a packet ripping party to get them all out. 72-6 card packs.

I'm there for the 27th, as for a sticker party it'll depend on when as I'm going to be out of town from the 5th to the 10th.

 

I was just going to place an order with smilemakers, good thing I checked! My schedule is always a bit tight, but I will let you know about both ASAP!

Will my new YODA jean jacket count as a costume.....? I actually haven't seen it yet but it should be waiting for me when I get back...Yippee

 

I'm in for 1-3 people with some combo of Jedi(2) and/or trooper(1).

 

Sadly, JediDragon does not think he will be able to make it to this event, however he will see what he can do to try.

 

Sadly I will not be ale to attend.

 

Well I have yet to talk to my possible ride, but I would need to get a costume for him. I have nothing.

But for myself I shall be a Jedi. And another girl who might come may borrow my Leia costume. She's got fabulously long hair we can turn into buns.

Of course my coming relys totally on getting a ride down there. Of course I could always take the bus too.

Just got confirmation on the shipment of our stickers, should be here by Monday!

 

Another question: how long after 4pm will this thing last?

 

Depends, probably spend 1/2 to an hour in the lobby, then depending on number of groups we have several floors to make the rounds on and then if there are any special requests into the ICU area or other normally closed areas. I would plan on 2+ hours.

 

If I can't get two other people to go with me, I will have extra costumes. I have the Jedi costume you all saw, and one for a shorter person, +armor. If someone needs one and will take good care of my babies I could loan them out. Remember though, no boots or belt yet. I'm workin on it though.

If anyone in this great state wants to make it to the projects (this one and the possible IMAX project), I'm the man to talk to. My lightsaber that I worked so hard on broke apart after a year of busy service. I understand that we have people coming from Laramie (I believe). Fortunately for you, I owe a big favor on a pickup to the University. It goes like this. My first night as a pledge, they pilled us into five different cars and handed us a case of ummm...Gatorade...and told us to drink it before we made it to wherever we where going. Needless to say, we were rather dishevled and DRUNK when we got to Wyomming (a place none of the pledges had ever been). My friend who was is the car with me puked as soon as we got through the door. He wussed out and could only finish 8 of the beers in our case. That means I got 16. Long story short:
Dance til sweaty
naked jello shots (I don't understand why on this one)
Bacardy 151 mixed with a 100 proof bottle of Canadian Club.
Passing out.
Sexually molested by the largest woman that couldn't go to the beach because some environmental team would have to roll her back into the sea.
Missing my roommate stumbling into one of the sorrority houses at 1 am.
Waking up a 2 am in a Ft. Collins gas station in the trunk of a stolen car.
Finally, back to the dorms.
Waking up at 10am by my roommate.
"Have you seen Garrett?"
"No, he left with you."
"No, becuase I'm still here."
Best party in all of Wyoming history.

Now to the special part:
The wonderfull and most generous Wyoming people in (well...) Wyoming drove my friend all the way down to Boulder because they had nothing better to do.

God, they're great men.

Eventually, I'll tell you why I owe one to the Colorado Springs folk.

Y'all should have no problems getting to whatever event you want to.

I would be happy to drive you back, as long as we get to see the costume queen show up, in costume!

We'll have to work something out to get you to my place if you come down on Saturday. Which day are you coming down anyway?

 

I'm looking into that... I'm going to have to find out where the bus station is first however.

 

If you can make it on Saturday, see about going to Greeley getting there about 5:30-6PM and you can come watch the play w/ us and we can have dinner in town. I know a great place near the campus, Moose something (go figure). Used to take my sister there a lot.
