Yes, beautiful work. If LucasArts / Disney ever resurrect Indiana Jones video games, I'd love an adventure game in that style.

Also, the Harrington Ford did follow the pattern laid out by Monty - one misspelled word per name, so I think you guys had it right the first time..

I think you overestimate how much power screenwriters have in film. For instance, the nuke the fridge sequence? Yeah, that was in Frank Darabont's script. Do you really think that was Darabont's idea? No.

Film isn't like TV. The writers simply write whatever the director/EP/Studio tells them to write on a big budget film. Unless you are Jonah Nolan, because then your brother is the one with the power.

 

I don't know who, if anyone (besides Spielberg), will have their fingerprints on this story/script, but Koepp's name is attached to more misses than hits in my book, and I'd prefer he sit this last Indy adventure out.

 

we need to take Indy back to fundamentals, meaning Nazis, lots of Nazis. So many.

In my own script, Indian has a bullwhip duel with Julius Streicher in the streets of Nuremberg.

 

So many that they all combine into Jaeger-Nazi-Mann.

 

He's no Phil Collins.

So Disney's rejiggering Indy's traditional release date as well. I get it. It's not a big deal--far less big-a-deal than swinging w/CGI monkeys--but, 40-something manchild set in his ways here. Oh well, just glad to have Indy back.

 

Too bad, then, that the rumored title is Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the CGI Monkeys.

Make it meta. It's about Harrison Ford trying to make the Indiana Jones movie, but then he becomes consumed with rage at the alt-right, so he goes after them in character. Opportunity for a lot of cameos.

 

2020 they say. Whatever.
