Wait a minute. If they get Pratt to play Indy, they could base it off a book called Indiana Jones and the Dinosaur Egg, and use it as a prequel to Jurassic World.

 

JP, you just answered your own question. Indy can easily be the grand child because instead of being 30 years it could be 25 years and then Indy's great grand daughter would be born in 1989 putting her at 26 years old. Nothing wrong at all and in fact the right age to be a successful archeologist and teacher. She could have a child if she wanted but then again maybe not. The important thing is she is keeping the Jones legacy alive of protecting history's treasure from grave robbers and possibly an evil organization like say ISIS.

 

No one in their right mind wants an Indiana Jones movie set in the present day. Or fighting ISIS. Jesus.

i think beezel is just trying to get the ball rolling. now we add our own ideas. for one thing the new woman indiana jones has to be afraid of something. it is a jones tradition to have one primary mortal fear. everyone knows that indiana jones was afraid of snakes and mutt jones was afraid of soap. i think the new female indiana jones could maybe be afraid robots. it's a modern fear for a modern lady.

 

I think it would be better if she was afraid of everything, really shake up the genre. So, like, she hates snakes AND rats, plus all bugs and insects, heights, open spaces, flying, and she's a germophobe.

 

Good plan. So she is trying to stop ISIS from getting hold of an ancient artefact that will kill Christians? With her trusty sidekick ( not a robot). Maybe she's into BDSM, and that's where the whip comes from. Might as well try and hook in the 50 Shades audience.

 

No no, if female Indian Jones-- or, to feminize the name, Indiana-- were to fight ISIS, she would be defending a more exotic group than Christians. Like the Yazidi. I'm sure they have some crazy weird mythology to mine from and we can make them cannibals or something and there would be a scene where Indiana would be all disgusted by it.

Ooh, I think it would be great to reference maybe Clueless or The Devil Wears Prada, have her open her closet and look at her display of fedoras and then say "The Versace Fedora, or the Chanel Fedora?"

 

It would be pretty weird to use Star Wars chic in Indiana Jones, but I don't see how it's misogynistic.
