It's called "Dirty Santa". Just to clear up any misconceptions, "dirty" does not mean "adult-oriented". This game is appropriate for both older and younger members of the Tulsa FanForce.

Rules for the ?Dirty Santa? Gift Exchange Game

    1. Anyone who wants to participate will bring a wrapped gift to the Tulsa FanForce Christmas Party. We ask that if you go out and purchase this gift that you spend no more than $10.00 per gift. You may bring an item that you no longer want that may be sitting around your home in stead of purchasing something. (You and your guests are encouraged to participate. One gift per person.) No adult novelties or anything that you wouldn't want a child to see, please. Gag gifts are not only allowed, but highly encouraged.

    2. Upon arriving at the party, there will be a gift table available with numbers in a basket. Put the gift on the table and draw out a number from the basket.

    3. The #1 ticket holder will pick a wrapped gift from the table and open it. The #2 ticket holder will either pick the item that #1 picked or they may pick a new wrapped item from the table. The #3 ticket holder will either pick what # one has, or what #2 has, or they may pick a new wrapped item from the table. And this continues until all of the gifts have been taken from the table or final exchanges completed.

    4. Whom ever gets the #1 ticket will be allowed to pick a new gift at the end of all of the other picks, providing that the #1 ticket holder person is still holding on to the original gift picked (no exchanges). In other words: When #1 gets a gift and no one else picks it through out the entire game, then that person will be entitled to one more selection at the end of the game. But if that person?s gift gets picked during the game, then the game will end when the last person has completed their turn.

    5. Each item may only be exchanged for a maximum of 3 exchanges. Example: If a person picks a gift and the next person takes that gift from them that would be the #1 exchange. If the next person takes that same gift from the second one, that is considered the second exchange. Then if the next person takes the item one more time, this would be considered the third and final exchange and would not be eligible for exchange again.

    6. If you gift is "exchanged" (taken by someone else), you may not take that one right back. You must select another one from the table or you can take a gift from someone who already picked thier present. However, if your lose that gift again later on and need to pick another one from the table or another player, you can take a gift that was taken from you in a previous turn, PROVIDED that the gift has not been exchanged three times yet.

    7. No one may return home with the gift that they, OR their guests brought with them. If you don?t want to part with it, don?t bring it!

That about sums it up. Keep in mind, you do not have to spend $10, just don't spend more than $10. Or, as stated in the rules, you could bring something sitting around the house that you don't need anymore. Oh yeah, about Rule # 1, I doubt that anyone in our group would bring something from Priscilla's or whatnot. These rules were typed up for my office's Christmas party. Nonetheless, just to be safe....it had to be said. [face_devil]

    This will be a blast!

If your gift gets 'stolen' you can't steal it back immediately, correct? I've seen too many of these games end in tragedy to not get that out of the way...

That is correct. Rules have been edited to reflect.
