I haven't yet gotten my badge. Wonder when I should start to worry.

Also, there are currently five people staying in the 'girls' room.' Since that is already one person sleeping on the floor and five females all sharing one bathroom, I'm doubtful two more people could fit in without it getting way too cramped. Sorry. :(

Where is Terry staying? Has anyone heard? How many folks are staying with Zero and the Twins?

    Greetings, blokes.

That email thing said mine was will-call, too. That best be an error, or they are going to have one irate customer on their hands...

I didn't pay months and months early just to have to wait in a line to get my ticket in hand.

Here's to hoping my ticket is on its way. If not, there will be massive amounts of arm-swinging happening...

If errors like this are a gauge of how smoothly things are going to run next month, may God have mercy on us all...

Grumbling and preparing to swing arms,
    Yours Truly

Just an FYI, I got my 4 day pass Friday in the mail, but just the pass and papers, no friends&family passes, no vader topper, and the thing thats got me the most ticked, no fan club lanyard (no lanyard at all actually). So I emailed GenCon....and now I wait....

    :(

    Greetings, blokes.

Just saw on another thread that the change in shipping status might just be an error, and that our badges may truly be en route. It said that if you don't get your thing by April 1st, get back in touch with them to see what's up.

Makes me a teeny bit less filled with rage, but still irritating. Unless of course, my badge is sitting in my mailbox as I type this, then it's okay.

    Taps fingers on desk,
    Yours Truly

Here's the breakdown of people in rooms, IIRC.

Couples room 1: Me and Em
Couples room 2: Terry and Ginger (though this needs to be confirmed. If Ginger does not go, Terry may room in the "Guys" Room)
Co-ed Room: Tina, Stacie, Zero, Bart (Tina's friend)
Guys Room: Josh, Dan (Tentative my buddy Joby-and possibly Terry if Ginger doesn't go)
Girls Room: Chris (GC), Bonnie, Allie, Malo-ha (and who was the other one Chris?)

I haven't recieved my CIII stuff yet either. I was a bit frustrated by the whole supposed switch to Will Call thing too. But Dave has since posted that they sent him his badge stuff. Though they neglected to send him his Orange SW club lanyard. You need that to validate the friends/family passes. Without it, you're out of luck.

So check your C3 packages thoroughly. If you're expecting a club lanyard, Vader topper, F/F passes, etc and you don't get something, do as Fluke mentioned and fire off an e-mail. If it doesnt' get resolved by C3, you may be forced to wait in the WIll Call line to get it all straightened out.

I've got a bad feeling about this...

You know, I was still debating whether or not to arrive Thursday or Friday, and I think I'll keep it Friday. Maybe by the time I get there, the bottleneck that will have been caused by all the screw ups may have cleared up somewhat.

Geez... Dragon Con isn't until Labor Day weekend, and I've already got my badge for that.

The fifth person is a friend of Malo-hara's.

As to the chaos already connected with CIII . . . well, I did have a slight hope that it would be better run than CII, but I wasn't counting on it. Sigh. One would think that these companies would realized that if you are going to get 40,000 people coming to an event, you are going to need to be EXTREMELY well organized.

You know, it would have to figure that I ordered my CIII badge hours before the cut-off to have it mailed and I receive it last week WITH the fanclub lanyard (of which I am not a member) and the passes, plus the vader topper (but I actually asked for that.)

They are sooooo going to screw this up!

    Greetings, blokes.

Hey, Greencat... Did you get the fun message from United saying we get to see balmy North Carolina on the way back from Indy?

Going from Indy to Pittsburgh via North Carolina.

    That makes sense...

My pass was also *not* in my mailbox today...

    Grrrr,

Woo Hoo! We just upgraded from The Hampton Inn to the Westin so now we'll be right next door to you guys (I think?). Some rooms opened up for today only and I managed to snag some. This will be so much easier for me since we'll be bringing the little guy. Now we can just walk across the skyway instead of down a couple blocks outdoors.

I haven't revieved my pass yet either. Where do I go to check and see if it's been switched to "will call"...

Of course if it has been switched, I am NOT going to be amused...

Well, according to a collecting bud of mine, your badge reservation may now say "Will Call", but in fact he has now received his badge. Albeit without his lanyard and family/friends passes....

This is going to be SOOO screwed up...

    Sigh...

I ordered my Celebration at CIII ticket last night.

I will be bringing ALL confirmation printouts to CIII with photo ID and such since it's obvious they will not have their act together.

    Greetings, blokes.

Fettish... If you login at the www.starwarscelebration.com website, and click on "View your Registrations" it'll bring up your entry pass purchase, and you click on the little envelope "email me" option, and it'll fire you off an email. Also, if you click on "Change Account Details" you can see what your shipping method was: "Ship to me" or "Will Call."

My email said I was "Will Call" but my "Account Details" said "Ship to Me." Good programming there, guys.

I've heard that we're pretty much supposed to ignore that, though, and if you don't get it by April 1st, then send them an email about it.

I best be getting mine soon, that's for sure... *grumble*

    Always last to get everything,
    Yours Truly

Okay, Philly is out for the Great C3 Caravan, so WE are in control of the starting time. I still need to confer with Columbus regarding a good time to show up for them, but let's discuss when we'd like to show up ultimately in Indy.

Again, I ask that only those actually participating in the Caravan post their comments. Thanks.

Considering the trip will take roughly 10-12 hours (including neccessary stops for gas and "potty" breaks. When would you all like to arrive in Indy?

Em and I are early morning risers, so it's no problem for us to get up early. IIRC, Zero wrks the early morning shift, so it shouldn't be a problem for him. Tina&Stacie, woudl you be cool with a very early morning departure?

What I'm considering since we seem to all be having problems getting our passes/kayards, etc, it might be a good idea to get to Indy on that Wednesday as soon as possible. So we can take can of any unresolved problems with our C3 registration.

So, I'm proposing that we leave Pittsburgh at 5am.
We'll get there with enough to take breaks as needed along the way yet take care of the problems at Indy.

Don't forget everyone that the Will Call booth is only open until 8PM that night anyway, so we don't want to show up too late, knowing that there are going to be hundreds if not thousands of others there.

Okay, please discuss folks, as we need to get this ironed out ASAP, so I can contact all the other FF's that are joining us along the way. Due to the time senstive issue with this, we can only afford about a week, as we need to be respectful of those other FF's and give them time to plan this as well.

So, deadline for suggestions for when we leave is Sunday (3/27/5), with voting on when we leave to commence the next Monday (3/28/5). You will choose a First choice then a second choice.

The voting will NOT be done by polling as we've had problems with that in the past. You are to PM me with your vote and then the final tally will be revealed on Tuesday. Anyone questioning the vote, should they request, can be e-mailed screenshots of each persons vote for proof of the final outcome. I dont' see that as a problem, but the disclaimer is there for a reason.

As I see it we are only having about 8 from here going.

Now, once the vote is in, I'll further contact Columbus with both options we will have voted on, noting the preferred one.. If the First choice is good for them, then it's a go. If not then we fall back to the second one. If not then, then I'd say we just go it on our own and see who can meet us along the way.

    Fair enough?

Thanks for the info! My account says "ship to me", but the email said "will call"... Guess I'll have to wait and see what happens next...

Okay, I'll scoot on outta here and let you PA folks get back to business. :)

    Thanks again! :p

I would join the caravan but I am working that Wednesday and leaving shortly thereafter (assuming a super cheap flight deal doesn't come by.) The great one-car caravan should arrive shortly after midnight.

I'm sure you could hook up with any number of people who are going. Maybe stay over with someone the night before so your family isn't on the road at some ungodly hour.

I don't plan to leave until Friday around 8am (I am so NOT a morning person!). I figure that gets me there around 3 or 3:30 with brief stops. It's a 6 hour drive non-stop. I've done Chicago in 10 so this will be a piece of cake.

If nothing else works out (I'm assuming you want to leave sooner), LMK and I'll be glad to pick you up.

    alrighty.
The hotel reservation letters have been sent out to Chris option A(she knows who she is), Josh, and Dan. If anyone else, who's hotel room I booked, would like the info e-mailed to htem, just PM me your e-mail address, and I'll shoot it off as soon as I can.
Sal, you got tthe room assignments right, as of this moment. I have to call Terry tomorrow(Wed) to confirm things with him.
As was mentioned in the meeting minutes from March, if I booked your hotel room, I would prefer it if you could switch the billing/payment info to one of the members of that room. If this is not possible, and I understand if it's not, I would like to have the money for the room by the April meeting. If there are any complications or issues with this, or if you would like an explanation for this, please feel free to PM me and we can discuss this and figure out a solution. I will keep any monies given to me in a sealed envelope, so there is no thought of theft. (Just to be safe, this is a large amount of money we're talking about.)
As far as C3 badges. I recieved mine in the mail a few days ago. I got my badge, fan club lanyard, and friends and family passes. I thought I had ordered the Darth Vader Toppers, but I guess I didn't. Oh well. I can't say that I'm overly thrilled with the look of it, but as long as it gets me into the convention, I think I'll be able to deal with it. Everything on it is too.....red. It could have used some more color to it. I actually thought the C2 badges were kinda cool looking.
Also, I got my volunteer schedule for C3:
    Thursday, 4/21/2005, 11:00 AM-4:00 PM -- Guest Escort
    Friday, 4/22/2005, 8:30 AM-12:30 PM -- Autograph Puller
    Saturday, 4/23/2005, 8:30 AM-12:30 PM -- Floater
    Sunday, 4/24/2005, 8:30 AM-12:30 PM -- Autograph Puller
I don't know which guest I will be escorting yet, or what a "floater" does, but all of this just makes me more and more excited.

As far as when to leave. Are there any other groups coming in from east of us that we would need to meet up with? If not, I'm all for leaving at 5 am. I do work mornings, but am not a morning person. But I do what I have to do to get it done.
