CIII survival checklist - What should we pack?!!

A notebook. You never know when you might want to copy down an e-mail or an autograph.

Water

Books, for the line, to get autographed.

CD player

 

Shout laundry wipes. They are good for cleaning up small food or dirt stains you may get on your clothes.

 

Force Pike and Stohkli(sp?) Stick.

To keep the weirdos at bay!

Just be sure not to bring it into the con center itself. If you do,they'll probably get you for carrying a weapon.

No,not that. But they have a pretty scrict policy on weapons,real or not. All prop Lightsabers and blasters have to be tagged,and even Law Enforcement officers that are attending aren't allowed to carry their weapons in the center. So,I think if they found any kind of weapon on somebody,they wouldn't be happy.

 

Jeez, not even LEOs? How stupid. Great, this probably means some nuthead would freak out about my Leatherman Thanks for the warning, I'll be crossing that OFF my checklist!

EDIT: I was reading over the official weapons rules again,and I noticed it didn't actually say anything about LEO's. They just said military personel wern't allowed to carry their weapons. Sorry,my bad.

 

HELLO, CLEAN UNDERWEAR.

 

Lots of great suggestions... this isn't my first major con... far from it in fact, but I've learned a few things. This will be the first one I actually carry a backpack with water, snacks, etc during the actual con.

Question... for those of us coming alone (and a bit shy as well)... would anyone recommend bringing portable gaming devices such as the gameboy or the Sony PSP? Something to pass the time in lines and, especially in the case of the PSP, conversation starters?

I'm actually gonna bring a microwave & hit the local Aldi to save money on food since I'm staying at the Hyatt.

 

Wow a microwave... now theres something you dont think of everyday to bring to a convention with you lol

 

I didn't see it . . . but for those of you who are bringing cell phones, don't forget your charger. I forgot mine last time and ended up being without it for half of the last day and all the way home. Not fun. <<

Yeah, I think forgot to mention that, but hubby will have it in his briefcase, along with my digital camera battery charger.

to the person whose wife or whatever had a,uh, TP need in Kansas?..(LOL! how horible!)..it wasn't near Salina was it?....lol that place always seems to give us various problemss.
along with all the stuff you all mentioned, i'm bringing some stress relief tea. for headaches, eye strain, whatever.... works wonders!

i brought my laptop with me last time and YES i DID "lug" it around with me in my pack. i was NOT about to leave it in the hotel room.

sunglasses, if you're driving...i've been on many a trip where i'm stuck driving into the sun with no sunners.


there were a few more things for us women, but i won't say them.

lots and lots of water and good snacks....

flashlite...ya never know.....

sunscreen for outside lines...just in case

i had the same thought about bringing those Talkabouts...wouldn't all the channels be jammed?

Now that George Lucas is coming, I am packing tons and tons of AA batteries, for all the pictures I am going to take. Heck, I might even finally break down and buy a video camera!
