My apologies for not posting an image for yesterday, a temporary game ban prohibited me from doing so.

There were a lot of nice changes to this scene for the SE. The Dewbacks now look better and we actually witness the troopers searching the desert. One thing that bothers me is that dang landing craft that was supposedly added taking off in the background. I still have not seen it. I hear the darn thing taking off, but haven't spotted it in the sky.

Ah...the funeral pyre scene...this scene rivals Binary Sunset on many levels as the most emotional. I believe this scene is one of the only scenes throughout the trilogy that actually brings tears to my eyes. This scene marks the end of Anakin Skywalker's life as well as the end of the saga. And once again, John Williams did a spectacular job catching the mood of the scene!

Thanks for the link! So, is it only visible on widescreen? Is that the reason why I can't find it?

Unfortunately the file name length of the OT photos on the TF.N media page as well as the link character limit of IGN, are beginning to severely limit me as to what images I can and cannot post. Anyone who could direct me to a website that I could link from or find OT pictures would be greatly appreciated.

It's time to restore an old favorite to its old glory, what does that mean of course? The Image of the Day has returned, and me along with it! Now lets see if I can remember these darn mark-up codes, and bear with me if I post an old image from time to time, it's hard to remember what I've already posted when it's been so long.

Now for what everyone has been waiting for.....

that shot is just too cool. As I mentioned in a different thread... there was no scene as cool as the Imperial Walkers until Jurassic Park came out

I like the shots of the Walkers when the sky looked overcast and white instead of blue and sunny. It looked more ominous.

That's a good one there, where it just shrugs off the shot. It's right up there with the scene where Veers' walker just pivots a bit and blows a snowspeeder out of the sky; so casual, so powerful.

You can just hear that walker saying "And where do you think you're going?"

One of the things I always found interesting about the escape pod design was that it looks so low-tech. It's even got forward thrusters and other steering thrusters like a current spaceship! That tumbling action was a good touch and just seems to ground it in reality for me.

I've read the pod is almost exactly the same as the one from 2001:A Space Oddysey

    ^In what way?

The escape pod in SW is just a couple of paper paint buckets with some model parts slapped on. It is fine for what it is, but any relation to 2001 is a REALLY long reach.

The space pod in 2001 was represented via full-size and miniature craft that were produced without kitbashing, reproducing very exactly the blueprints drawn up by the film's art dept.

Perhaps it just looks like the pod? Then again I've never seen 2001, so I've got no idea.
