I like that.

I have been feeling that its more likely Luke is marooned on the island than he left out of grief or quilt. We actually don't really know the island is even the first Jedi temple and he is calling the force to find him and Rey turns up works better for me than him putting himself into exile.

I think there is going to be history between Snoke and Luke and I wonder if its actually Luke who found Snoke as he was looking for a mentor to replace Yoda. Snoke turns out not to be what he seems etc etc.

Even more interesting if Ben is trained by Snoke under Luke's insistence as he sees him as a new mentor which would add more drama to Leia saying she wanted Ben trained by Luke.

Further to why did Luke leave, why did he not take R2? He took R2 to Dagobah so why not on the search for the supposed temple? R2 would have probably been quite handy to have around.

I doubt that Luke knew that his apprentice would turn on him and kill all of his other students, that would have been a surprise. And I doubt that he knew beforehand that the Hosnian System would be destroyed. Obi Wan didn't sense Alderaan's destruction until AFTER it happened, and even then didn't know exactly what had happened. Just that something "terrible" had. And Yoda didn't sense all of the other Jedi being killed until it was in the process of happening.

So I imagine that Luke sensed the Hosnian System's annihilation either in the moment, or immediately after. But either way, it was already too late to intervene. Heck we don't even know if he CAN leave that island, we didn't see his ship there after all.

Obi Wan wasnt known for seeing into the future or past...but yoda and anakin were. Some Jedi's have certain abilities that are better than their counterparts from what ive seen and heard as a whole. Im not saying with certainity at all that luke foresaw any of these events. I was trying to emphasize the rushing off to fix things based on premonition not whether he had those premonitions or not. Bottom line is i dont believe he tucked tail and hid.
