Really not digging the art style. Looks too much like Revolution or some F2P mobile game.

    Otherwise, I'm super stoked. :D

The district aspect of the game is really intriguing. I wonder what civs will be available at the start of the game, it is safe to say Americans, Chinese, Egyptians, English, French, Germans, Greece, India, Japanese, Romans, and Russians will be starting civil. I would like to see Austrians, Celtics, Vikings or Norwegians, and Persians make it as starting civs. Civilization V is an awesome game, but Civilization III is still my favorite due to that being the first of the series I started to play.

The ideas sound interesting, but I'm no fan of the art style either.

I just hope they go for something bigger again. IV was awesome, V was a bit meh. One unit per tile can work in strategy games, Panzer General / Panzer Corps is proof for that, but you need a) the room for movement and b) an AI that can handle it. Civ V made the maps too small to make it really work, leading to lots of congestion, and the AI was completely incapable of using this system. I'm also generally not a fan of small maps for other reasons, it simply doesn't feel like a huge world anymore.

So far I would have judged the series like this:
I: awesome introduction, great idea, legendary game
II: perfected what the first had introduced
III: tried to take a different approach and added plenty of new ideas, not everything worked out right away
IV: perfected the ideas from III, some tiny flaws (doomstacks)
V: went in a different direction again, some interesting ideas, early on severely lacking in implementing them. As mentioned above: the battle-system doesn't really work properly yet

in other words: the uneven games went for something entirely new, the even games perfected it, so there is hope for VI ;)

    Interesting.

I got into Civ late to the game but I think I had enjoyed IV the best.

Each iteration offers some great improvements, and I'm sure this one won't be any different.

The art is bright and vibrant, but honestly, not too dissimilar from Civ 4.

And who remembers Civ: Call to Power? That's an underrated game.

I hope that Civ VI changes the victory any wonder screens. Civ V's single images were a bit lacking, especially when compared to the wonder movies in Civ II, or the opening cutscene of V.

I also hope they bring the Spaceship building from Civ Revolution, where you actually saw the thing being assembled. That was very cool, and showed your progression. They are using the army concept from Revolution, so maybe it's not the only idea they're borrowing.

I've been playing a multiplayer game with a friend. There are some pros and cons. The new district system is really well done, and lends more specialisation to your playstyle. The espionage system is much better than in Civ V. Armies are much better too, with units able to combine, wider diversity, and a clearer promotion tree.

Cons include a frustrating lack of info in the civilopedia on how certain concepts work in the game, and the AI seems more unpredictably and hard to please. There's no team setting in multiplayer yet, so me and a friend can't just work together for victory. There's no building queue either, which means you have to think more in the moment when building things.

    Overall, it's really goof though.

Have played this game for a total of 24 hours now (total amount of hours, not one sitting ;) ) and I think it is really good, there are, of course, some areas for improvement, but it has not been out that long so there may be updates later on that will incorporate the elements that are missed, such as the build queue and the lack of same team multiplayer. I really like the districts but I do wish you could but them with Gold as it seems to be a lot easier to get a lot of gold per turn in this game. Those aside, it is a great development with a really nice GUI, I can't see myself going back to play Civ V anytime soon, it is such great fun! :D

I am seeing a number of DLC and expansions coming out for CivVI, I still have not purchased or played however. Still play Civ5 and even Beyond mostly.
