Civ2 is awesome!

 

well duh, of course, but what about civ3? it has stunning potential

 

damm ijust purchased the game, after hiring it out to play on a friends pc, but it will not play properly for me......i can install it, start it, and get to the stage where you select map size, barbarian level, islands etc.....and when i try to start teh game it says "this programmes has performed an illegal operation and blh blah", and it closes on me........this is sooooo frustrating!

 

Read the troubleshooting guide, I'm sure it'll give you some b-s answer about needing to update your drivers.

I personally liked Call to Power, and play it with some friends (who I always kick the junk out of).

 

returned the game got a refund, damm thing kept on causing a stack dump or something, which sucks, i have had to break out cov 2 again.....which while good is not the same

 

I can't believe the Iroquios made it to become a civ in Civ III

Obviously they wanted a North American Indian tribe. That's the only explination for that. I think they should have picked the Sioux instead

The Aztecs are, but at least they're an empire. The Iroquois just don't stand up to the other civilizations.

You could say the same about the Aztecs. Sure they gave a couple hundred Spanish mercenaries a fight, but what about a full Spanish, Chinese, British, or Russian army?

It's strange why America is included as a major civilization. They've only been a world player for slightly over a century.

They've only been the world leader for slightly over a century. America is in this game partially because it lead the way to the modern age (as it says in the civ discription). Not only that, look at America's economy: it effects the whole world. America's economic and industrial might also tipped the scales in WW1 and WW2. Isn't that a major civilization?

Enough of me going on about that. I've never played Civ or Civ2, but Civ3 is one the best games I've ever played. I love going to war with someone, demanding them to give me everything they have for a peace treaty (which they do sometimes!) and then just declare war right back on them! This game is so much fun

 

Civ3 is awesome. Just be prepared to lose a whole day in the blink of an eye. The game really gets fun when you have tanks and guns, and the other guys just have bows and arrows. They = owned.

 

Iroquios is basicaly Canada...
and the Iroquios are all six major tribes of native indians basicaly ALL of north american (including the US)

And they are my fav civ.

 

Civ III has owned me

its almost like CivII all over again. I think i'll need alarms setting off regularly to remind me to eat and do other bodily functions. Forget sleep

CivIII Edit scenarios are the best things ever

I'm currently occupying 75% of the land mass. that's 15 civs. poor egyptians got wiped out by the romans. They only had 1 city left when i discovered them. poor thing.

arghr. i want to be playing it here grr instead of working

too bad Civ3 isnt as alt-tab friendly as it should. Sucks cos i never really like a game like this being graphic intensive.

Id like a 3rd zoom level in between the only 2 tho, for the next patch

 

The Americans would have won this game by cultural domination and diplomatic triumph by 1950, Alpha Centauri victory by 1985, and Histograph victory by 1900. Of course they're a major civilization, howlrunner.
