Aston Martin just changed the name of their new limited edition Vantage GT3 to Vantage GT12, because Porsche apparently owns the GT3 name and was threatening to sue.

That's a really nice car. I like cars from the 50s. The fins, the chrome, the ice cream colours; there's no other decade of automotive design that looks like that. :D

Bumping this thread with this great Lamborghini Countach (I think there were Countachs in here before, but another one can't hurt). This is probably my favorite variation of the model.

Hey Ender, here's a classic for you to cruise around the outback after the big one hits.

I like the little wheel at the rear, very handy for quick starts off the line..I wonder what is under the hood?

Buick Regal and just about any GM G body, nice looking cars that are easy to modify.

Now that Spectre has come out, I have to say that seeing it in action made me like the Aston Martin DB10 more than I thought I would.

Bumping this thread, and it's ironic that the last post in here was the one above... because I was going to mention that the new (well, earlier in 2016) Aston Martin DB11 seems to take quite a few design elements from Spectre's DB10 but fit them into a slightly more "conventional" Aston Martin package. Unlike the DB10, which was just made for the movie and the related advertising (but was obviously used as a bit of a concept car too), the DB11 is a regular production car that people can buy. It's the newest model and considered the replacement for the DB9. Looks nice, too, except I'm not crazy about the different color pieces running along the roofline.

Yeah that is a beautiful car.

Someone actually said GM cars look good though. They're neither classic nor beautiful, those Buicks. They're shameful arse.

Yeah, everyone knows the best-looking American cars come from the Ford factory.

Well, I mean the F250 is a metaphor for EVERYTHING that is wrong with America, but if you look at the British contributions (GT40), German (Focus) and the Mustang, the answer is correct. Yes.

I remember seeing the next car when one was purchased in Australia in about 1992. Still beautiful today:

I find the XJ220 to be a victim of the overfascination with curves that occurred in car design in the 90s. New developments in manufacturing gave the auto industry new more cost-efficient ways to mold the body panels, which meant that you could move away from the boxy look of the 70s and 80s. Unfortunately, this meant that companies raced for the most egg-shaped designs possible, because that's what was the new hot thing, and this became the norm. The first series of Dodge Viper is a prime example of this. There's not a single edge and hardly any straight lines on that car's body. It was good looking at the time, but it's also very much of its time. The Jag, I think, is a more successful attempt at accomodating this newfound sensibility, but IMO not enough to transcend its time and become timeless.

You could call this a classic...

Please note the use of the conjunction "and" in the thread title, Sarge.

Meanwhile, the current featured car in the "showcase" at work

It probably amounts to trolling this thread, but I have a real fondness for Trabis.

Yes, they're slow, noisy and uncomfortable. Yes, they're literally made out of old plastic. Sure, the only electrical components that work are the Stasi listening devices. Even so, they have a certain grim, Eastern Bloc charm.

I guess my wrongheadedness on this issue is probably due to fond memories of my ex, who grew up not far from the Trabant factory in Zwickau. (Although she hated them. Her parents had one before the wall came down... but now both she and her mum have Renaults which is a step down from pretty much anything in my opinion).

I've posted Lamborghini Huracans in here before, but I was behind one on the road the other day and felt inspired to do so again. This is the latest version...
