Also, this lets you see how well Irvin Kershner's idea on ESB to retain the British accents of actors playing Imperial officers worked. And a good example of Lucas' dialog that sounded better on the written page than in actors' mouths: "The ability to destroy a planet, indeed a whole system, is insignificant compared to the cosmic Force." Luckily the redubbing of Vader's lines let that particular line be revised in post.

Plus the bit about "Governor Tarkin's bid for recognition" ties in with the subplot about Tarkin's ambitions to succeed ultimately to the title of Emperor, which was a bigger plot thread in the January 1976 fourth draft script.

 

Haven't seen this one in quite a while, it's strange, however, that the footage in the video is now flopped / mirror-inverted.

 

With Gold Leader's line in the outtake reel about "staying back to take over if anything goes wrong" (or something to that effect)
does he say "Dutch"? Combined with Gold 5 reporting to red Leader about how he "lost Tiriee, lost Dutch", then wouldn't Gold leader be"John 'Tiriee' Vander" and not "John 'Dutch' Vander"?

It was also interesting to hear how, at some point, they had considered having the Y-wings start their run with the absence of much resistance.

Nice look at the zippers underneath Luke's flight vest! It always amused me that Lucas basically adopted wholesale Gene Roddenberry's dictum that this is a movie set IN SPACE so we shouldn't be able to see visible clothing fasteners. As if people on the Starship Enterprise wouldn't put their pants on one leg at a time.

 

The mention of Vader as a "Sith Lord" blew my mind. I had no idea they ever planned to use that term in the original film.

Funny, it's Harrison Ford and co-producer Gary Kurtz (armed as usual with his camera), but I have absolutely no idea who the gentleman to the right could be.

 

So the original line wasn't "I'll be careful", he was telling the guy to "be careful then".
