I watched Clerks 2 at home last night. It was just ok.

No real new ground was covered, Dante was still an indecisive whiner who two-times on his devoted girlfriends, (If I was that friendly with a girl, my wife would kill me, and rightly so), then they danced on the roof of the store this time? Didn't they do something like that in the last movie? The Randall scene in the jail was probably more homoerotic than anything committed to film. And this is from someone that has seen (and enjoyed, sue me) Brokeback Mountain.

I think the only scene that got a good laugh out of me was the "pillow pants" dialogue between Randall and Elias (the creepy music and Randall's reaction just made the scene perfect)...no follow up about Dante's fiance, she just leaves and then everything is alright. There was no tying up of loose ends like that (like the lack of Dante patching things up with Veronica in Clerks I).

Not the worst movie, I don't even think it could have done better. The characters and the concept just seemed tired, as if they were (and they are) more than 10 years old. It even ends with a Soul Asylum song like the last film. All in all, a fairly good "cover", like in music, of the original.

I am sorry that you did not enjoy it as much as I. Some of the concepts that you mentioned are some of the reasons that I enjoyed it so much. Dante has not changed much at all... is that not like most people. Yes he two timed his girlfriend as he did in the first film... I would like to say that this time (as wrong as he was for doing it) he finaly came out on top.

It was nice to see further examples of Kevin Smiths veiw on pop culture.

    Not entirley on-topic but...

You know Ebert and Roper, like the actual show? Well Ebert is in the hospital, so Roper is having guests on. Today it was Leno, and next time its Kevin Smith. I may just intentionally watch that.

Once we get to Hollywood and find those Miramax ****s who are making that movie, we're gonna make 'em eat our ****, then **** out our ****, then eat their **** which is made up of our **** that we made 'em eat. Then you're all you **********s are next. Love, Jay and Silent Bob.

okay. I finally got away from Marley to go see this and it was awesome. Jeff Anderson and Brian O'holloran should get oscars and be recognized up there with the
    great actors in the world.
