It's quite obvious that Darth Maul returned for Episode 2. He's an older Darth Maul, who has settled in with a family on Tatooine.

    1. We know Shmi is a Sith, so Lord Maul naturally chose her as his wife.

    2. The ceiling of the Lars homestead is obviously Maul's tattoo, which he painted there to remind him of the good old days of Sithdom.

    3. Clieg has no legs - this much is obvious.

    4. He put on some weight over the last 10 years, which is natural for anyone. Just look at Nute Gunray.

    5. This explains why Owen hates Obi-Wan so much and always refers to him as a 'damn fool' - because Owen is a Darth Maul fan.

    6. Clieg is a pawn in the whole make-Anakin-evil plot - by orders form the Emperor, he sets up Anakin's mom.

    7. The Lars drink blue milk, which is actually a Sith favorite - the Emperor can often be seen enjoying this delight (we'll have a separate thread on this later)

Nice try, but ehm do you have any idea how painful it is to remove tattoos? Especially facial ones. Unless Maul's Yuuzhan Vong, I doubt he did that. And what about Maul's little horns? And indeed, Cliegg lost only one leg, Maul lost, well, his entire lower body!

Those were only temporary tatoos - they easily go away with some soap and water.

Since when is Shmi a Sith? And since when is Gunry fat? It's the robes!

Ok, so the tats could possibly be temporary. But the horns? And we've seen prosthetics in AotC (Anakin's arm, which he borrowed from Arnold Scharzenegger). Not very high tech.

Darth Maul stillhas his horns - this explains why he has such a shaggy horn-hiding haircut in AOTC.

A nail file could take care of the horns, and what if Mauls tatoos where not tatoos, but his rel face, then one could logically assume that the Clieg Lars (if that is his real name) face was th tatoo!!

But how do Owen and Beru fit in...Sith Younglings...

This thread is just too bizarre....

If Cliegg was Zebrek like Darth Maul, then why isn't Owen one too?

Are you using some kind of Jedi mind trick on me, because you're getting me convinced. Maybe Maul isn't Zebrek, but like Zam a changeling! And his son Owen too! But there's still that leg thing...

Yes, Cliegg's face is the tattoo. As for Owen and Beru, I think maybe they are Sith as well. Why else would Owen keep the temporary tattoo on the ceiling?

Zam is a Clawdite, only their species can be changlings.

If Owen and Beru were Sith as well, why was Luke still alive in ANH? They knew he was a Skywalker, so he had Jedi potential. If I were Sith I'd make him a nice "breakfast" and bury him in some desert!

If they were Sith, Cliegg would have been able to force-heal himself after he got his leg cut off and use his force-senses to find Shmi and destroy all of the Tuskens.

Ah! But as on old man, Maul's powers are weak.

Still, there's the thing about Maul losing half his body and Cliegg only a leg...

    [face_laugh]

    this thread is classic!

we all know that leg is useless, it's just there to make the lower half of his body look more "realistic".

Yes, Maul did lose his legs, but he only found one of them. The other leg was lost in a pit of gundarks.

And Nute Gunray is a fatman. Compare E1 pics to E2 pics and you will see he seriously needs to go on the Subway diet.

Hmm, maybe Maul was Vong after all, wearing a Cliegg ooglith mask...
