Macon, GA CLONE Update

Another year is upon us.

In another month the MACON CLONES will mark their ninth year. It seems like only yesterday that LitlleJedi, Grand Admiral Jedi, Smiling Otter and I struck up the conversation right here at FanForce and made the plans for our very first meeting.

Recently we have had a few changes;

Foremost we have a new Commander. Terry of Stairway Toys was elected to lead the CLONES into our tenth year. Terry comes full circle for the group having been in attendance at the very first meeting before embarking to find his fortunes in the comic/toy/gaming shop industry. For the past two years he has been gracious enough to host more than regular meetings at his store and we are very grateful to have him and his lovely wife.

With Stairway Toys relocating closer to home (for T&C). The CLONES will return to their roots at Books-A-Million. The meeting time will be the same as always, second Thursday, 6:30 pm but the location will change for a while.

The annual CLONE Bowl-O-Rama was last month and NamcoKing is this year's Champion. By squeaking by last year's Champ Terry (he is all over the news), NK gets the coveted CLONE pin to put on his mantle for a year.

If your a movie fan then the MACON CLONES Obscure Movie Festival is the place for you. 2011 has seen featured great movies like The Black Hole, City of Lost Children and Silent Running. All are welcome to attend and have a few slices of free pizza while you're at it.

Finally there has been a good bit of joy for several members over the past year as we have had more than a few Padawans join us with a couple more on the way. Congrats to all the new Moms and Dads!

I'm looking forward to another year of Fun, Fandom and Friendship with the MACON CLONES. We hope anyone in the Middle Georgia area with a love for Star Wars, Sci-Fi/fantasy and good friends will sign up as new recruits are aways welcome.
