I know it is just a wip but it is REALLY far off. Especially the face.

Its just my own take on it to be honest im trying to make it kinda half real half cartoonish with a hint of exaggeration to it. just styalising it abit more than it is in the cartton series.

I am sorry man but it isn't that it is just a different style, it just looks really weird, like his face was smashed. It just needs a lot of work.

Perhaps when you add some textures I will see more of a resemblance...

You are not getting any of the key features right on the face. Start with the chin then get the hair right then the eyes, and the nose. It shows no resemblence to the cartoon, LOOK at the reference pics..

If you read my post earlier on you would see that im doing my own take on it so im taking features I like from the cartoon and blending them with what I think it will look like in 3d. :)

When its textured it will look good ive my own direction I want to go in im not just trying to bring it from 2d to 3d, I want to stalise it my way abit and add my own influence to it.

    Heres an update anyways,

Fixed up some more areas and added more detail to the belt area and made the eyes alittle more detailed aswell.

Is this intended to be a high-poly model or lower poly? What software package are you using to build this?

It's a good start, but I'm having trouble figuring out exactly what you're aiming to do with it...if you're just building for fun or a static pose then you've got a good start going! If you're planning to rig it though for character animation, another story but the beauty of these forums is the feedback you can get on your projects.

Its just a static pose model until I learn how to do proper animation with bones and rigging and all that. Whole purpose of the model Is basically to blend the influence of the clone wars cartoon charecter with 3d and add my own twist on it.

some of its just to get me alittle more up to speed on charecter modelling which Im only starting out on to be honest but hope to get even better at it with time.

As for the modelling programme im using to model it im using 3D MAX 8, Probably the best version ive used of max in along time.

Max 8 is definitely the best I've used as well, been cranking away since version 2.5 :) I'd say continue with what you've got and once you feel you're confident with your modeling work to start texturing, post a shot for feedback. If you're stating it's a static pose I think that'll help guide the feedback you get.

The tabbards look like big dogs ears.

Maybe you should just wait until you texture it to post any more updates, these updates are just really repitious...

Also one more thing I noticed...I don't think it is the angle, but the arms are WAY to long. People's arms don't come down to their knees...they look like monkey arms...

And what do you mean you'd rather be safe than sorry...You can post your fully textured model and then people can say what is wrong with it, no need to post the same model over and over again asking what is wrong with it...
