    Hey Everybody,

It hasn't been confirmed yet, but all indications are that there will be a midnight screening of the new animated Star Wars Clone Wars movie on August 15th at the AMC River East Theater in Chicago.

I plan on lining up at around 6pm on August 14th (earlier if I can swing it) and I hope that some of my fellow fans will join me. OK, so 6 hours of waiting in line isn't like the hard core good old days, but I still think it will be fun.

At Celbration IV I attended the very first preview screening of the animated series . . . I came in thinking it would just be OK . . . and I was blown away at how good it looked.

Anyway, I hope that some of you will join me. I'm planning on running a Star Wars trivia game while in line and giving away the last of our Chicago Force shirts as prizes.

That's it for now. More details to follow.

We'll try to make the AMC line up and get anothe 15 minutes of fame, if it happens, and in costume.
Let's get all the attention our parents denied us.
    Love,
    Liobi

Tickets for the midnight premiere of Star Wars: The Clone Wars at River East 21 are now on sale. Go to www.amctheatres.com or www.moviewatcher.com. The digital auditorium will be occupied that evening by Journey to the Center of the Earth (in digital 3-D), so it looks like The Clone Wars will be on film.

    Phil beat me to it.

Yes indeed, tickets are now on sale.

I'll be lining up at around 5:00-5:30pm. I'll be running a Star Wars trivia game throughout the line up and promoting our little happy fun club. Trivia prizes will be the Episode III T-Shirts we still have left.

I'd love to see some of you there.

I was originally planning to get down there around 5-5:30 too, but because I'm house-sitting a pair of dogs this week, I may not leave until around 6pm, which would get me there (hopefully) by 7:30-8pm. :) I will definitely be there, though!

I'll be at Rivers East as well - hope to finally meet you all! I'll be the girl wearing a Star Wars t-shirt. That should narrow down the sea of strangers. :p

Call me a SW apologist, a SW defender, I really don't care but I really liked The Clone Wars and am definitely looking forward to the show more than ever.

Overall I thought it was fast-paced, fun, and action packed and definitely felt like prequel-era SW. Is it going to win an Emmy, no, does it have flaws, definitely, but I wasn't looking for perfection. And I can't believe I'm saying this but I really liked Ashoka Tano, I went in thinking she would grate on my nerves and walked out looking forward to more of her. I think she's a great new character and will really help to expand SWs audience more in the young female area. I'm excited to see where this whole series goes next

Again, it wasn't perfect but I went in with moderate expectations and looking for a lot of new SW fun and in that it definitely fit the bill. I look forward to seeing it again.

I must say the BEST part of the Clone Wars evening was hanging out with everybody beforehand. People giving away t-shirts & Wookiee Cookies...could it get any better??

Does anyone know how to get a hold of that group photo, by the way?

I trooped the Woodridge Cinemark showing...
where it looked like the earlier showings were a little more crowded...
the 9:00 PM showing (it was showing in two of the theaters) was eerily empty...
so the Manager allowed us folks in costume to go in to see the movie...

    All in all....
    it was ok...

I found myself liking Asoka...and I was sure I would not...
I actually enjoyed Anakin in this movie...no whining..no "dark side"...
the shoot-em-up battles got a little endless and boring..
    and...
dunno about the whole Jabba's kid thing...
to far "out there" for me...

I laughed out loud at some of the "Battle Droid" humor..
where I am glad I saw it..
    I am also glad I didn't pay for it...lol..

I have to agree with you Dr. Jawa. I really liked Clone Wars. Critics be damned. It had its share of silly kiddie stuff but what Star Wars movie doesn't? I dare say that I even thought this was better than Phantom Menace and in many ways Attack of the Clones (not that AOTC didn't have it's moments). I am psyched to see the new series. It was so exciting to see the beginnings of a fresh approach on the big screen. I can't wait. Oh yeah, I liked Ashoka too.

Oct. 3rd is the offical premiere of the series on Cartoon Network.

I for one am very excited. Maybe we could organize some viewing parties for future episodes?

We should have a viewing party for an episode. That'd be fun.
