Hasn't Obi-Wan's flagship been called the Negotiator since Season One?

But yeah, it's funny because it's like Tarkin has just been sitting around in-universe gawking along with the rest of us at TCW's at-times ridiculous and non-sensical plotlines.

They should retcon the Renown to be the flagship of Even Piell, which was captured in Season 3.

That Tarkin memo used the scandoc format from the Imperial Sourcebook. [face_hypnotized]

Precisely! I saw echos of the DSTC myself. This may be the best thing to come out of TCW.

Well, that, and the bit in my icon.

Not only that, but I believe the ISB was also the first source to identify Tarkin as holding the rank of Admiral, also.

I wish the scandoc would have referred to "republican intelligence organizations", making it it seem like all 4 of the intelligence/security entities listed in the Imperial Sourcebook were secretly passing on their finding to Tarkin.

Where was all that retconned anyway?

From the Imperial Sourcebook's "How to read a scandoc":
    Fits the message perfectly.

His ship being called such as a nod to the culturally significant emphasis Lannik society places on the concept of renown--an emphasis the value of which was later exemplified (incidentally) by the fact that following Piell's death, at least one fellow Lannik Jedi changed both his name and physical appearance to match the late Jedi Master's in order to fully honor him in accordance with ancient Lannik tradition?

    edit: Ehh, I'm trying.

I really don't want another Eeth Koth/Agen Kolar, Adi Gallia/Stass Allie, Depa Billaba/Sar Labooda retcon. They're tiresome.

Oh, and just because I'm a total troll and am deliberately raising a ruckus...

Notice that Tarkin referred to VNSDs as "ships of the line" -- as in battleships. And, y'know, not destroyers. [face_whistling]

As we know Tarkin loves SD :D

"I maintain that the effectiveness of the Star Destroyer stems from not only its massive firepower, but from its size. When citizens look at a Star Destroyer and then compare it to the craft which might be mustered to attack it, they have a tendency to dismiss such a notion as suicidal rather than approach the problem tactically." - Tarkin

Today show featured a striking green-eyed redhead female Human (a Deathwatch)

Yeah, there are likely billions of green-eyed redhead females that would be of the right age to mother another green-eyed redhead female that would be 18 at the Battle of Yavin....

But green-eyed redhead working for Sidious...

Or as "main-line cruisers", another term used in the same show.

Btw, Jason already used the term "battleship" to also mean something in general, synonymous with the term "warship", in both the season 1 book and The Essential Guide to Warfare (where it doubled as a military short-hand term for a larger capital ship that could turn the tide of a naval confrontation. The short-hand system went "gunship"->"cruiser"->"battleship", iirc).

The Clone Wars Campaign Guide, meanwhile, just defines "ships of the line" as "heavier capital ships" in the paragraph describing the naval formation that is a "section".
A "section" that contains heavier capital ships, is in turn often called a "line".

Ironically, the larger Recusant-class seen in the tv show is referred to as a "destroyer" in at least one episode (the attack on Kamino one, ARC Troopers, I believe), while the more heavily armed Providence-class in the show is referred to as a "Separatist dreadnought".

The briefing in Storm Over Ryloth used the terms "cruiser" for the Venator-class, "battleship" for the Lucrehulk-class command ship and "frigate" for the Munificent-class escorts.

This tidbit from CWCG also hints that both the terms "destroyer" and "Star Destroyer" are classifications used for similar cruiser designs:
Originally built for the Trade Federation by the Quarren Free Dac Volunteers Engineering Corps, the kilometer-long Providence-class destroyer (frequently referred to as a "Trade Federation cruiser") is one of the Confederacy's most powerful warships, more than a match for any similarly classed cruiser in the Republic Navy.
    - Emphasis mine.

Hey, what I said wrong ? Mara had a mom, after all.

(BTW, I never understood why no one ever thought to make a book or at least a line covering the origins of Mara and Han.)

Han's origin was pretty well covered in the Crispin trilogy.

Of course, no one as of yet really knows what to make of the rumors that he was spotted on Kashyyyk during the final battles of the Clone Wars....

    Her name is Bo-Katan, apparently.

Also, I'm aware of Crispin books, but what I meant is, it would have been nice to know who where Han's parents and who were Mara's parents.

In the age of sail, ''cruiser'' was a term assignated to warships in relation to their mission, aka to ''cruise'' indepedantly of a battle line, for scouting, harassing the ennemy, raiding commerce. ''battleship'' and ''ship of the line'' were meant for ships desginated for fleet actions.

Maybe something similar exist in the GFFA.

It seems so, the Republic used cruisers and what few dreadnoughts they had for fleet actions. These would obviously fit with the definition of "ship of the line".
On the other hand, the Republic's battlecruisers were used to hunt larger ships on raids in Republic space or to provide the spearpoint for raids into Separatist space (these latter ships being uparmored and given better hyperdrives, so I believe that's a reference to the idea of battlecruisers in the pre-WWI era).

What falls on the wayside is what the CWCG's battleships refer to. There's too few dreadnoughts to fit into multiple lines of threes and fours, which means these battleships would be like Anaxes-scale Star Destroyers or battlecruisers (while not fitting the same criteria as the Anaxes system's definition for a battlecruiser, of course).
There's a TCW sticker book, of all things, that refers to both the Acclamator and Venator being escorts for Republic battleships as part of their duties in the Republic Navy. Even if the battleships in question were battlecruiser-scale, they would be involved in fleet actions and thereby be ships of the line, too.
