Figured I'd copy/paste this here so you Lit people can get an updated version of the current outline for the remaining episodes, based on new info for the panel.

While there might be a few more surprises, Filoni discussed pretty much everything above except for the Mauldalore arc, the Mon Cala arc, and whatever the Padme arc is (which may or may not be related to the Vong/Jedi temple ruins stories).

I could still be wrong on some of this, but I think this outline is pretty close to the final one for the show. It would've ended with 7 "production" seasons, and 8 airing seasons.

 

Also... according to the Clone Wars untold material panel...

Filoni not only spared Barriss from death (where she'd explode via nanites like the first murder victim! Yeesh!), he 'still' has plans for her. Said in the present-tense.

Thanks for the summary, HEDGESMFG! I've heard all that in bits and pieces, but it's cool to see it all in one comprehensive list. Top Gun and X-Files homages... yeesh. That would have been something to see. (but if the latter was a Padme-as-Scully tale, I dunno...)

I think I'm in the minority here of people who loved The New Jedi Order and the Yuuzhan Vong. *points to avatar*

I would love to see the Vong appear in anything in the new canon.

There are lots of complaints (many valid) about the NJO-on on the forums.

 

I just see tons of people here always talking about how they only like the EU up until The New Jedi Order. It surprises me honestly because I love it so much.

 

I think I've seen three or four people that post currently (really only two that I've seen recently) that are outspokenly against the NJO, to varying degrees.

Whereas I can't name all the pro-NJO people I know. Maybe I just ignore the anti-NJO people, iunno.

 

There are a bunch of NJO/Yuuzhan Vong fans on here. Several people on here don't like them (with some going very far in their hate even) but there usually is a happy balance between relations of people who like and people who don't like the Vong.

 

Simple put, the NJO was generally divisive, while the post-NJO was generally repulsive.

 

This is a Best Friends Play reference, and I see straight through it sir.

 

I love the Vong as well. Especially... well, just look at my signature

 

Maybe less people dislike the Vong and NJO than I thought. I just feel like I've seen more negative comments about them than positive in the short time I've been a member here.

 

I feel like Abadacus did a good job summing a lot of it up here: people have developed more favorable opinions of the NJO over time, but at the time it was more controversial. Conversely, the utter badness of the post-NJO has caused some people to view it as a precursor to that - which it sort of was, though not intentionally.

 

At least the NJO series ended on a good high note. DNT/LOTF/FOTJ/Crucible do not. I can still remember the first time I read the end of TUF. I remember it fondly. Best end to a story ever imo. ​
