Ok, it's come down from Administrations that each Fan Force and Region may have ONE spoiler thread for the Clone Wars Movie. In that thread they are allowed to discuss the movie at length, show 'spoilers' and generally talk about it in detail. But only ONE thread per Fan Force and one for the Oceania boards. So this is the VicFF Thread, it's clearly marked as a spoiler alert, so we all know the drill.

    Hope everyone enjoys the movie!

Don't hesitate... only the critics are panning it..... & who really cares about a critics opinion anyway?

If you're a TRUE SW fan, you'll love it.

Nothing but a true fan here, I remember going to see the first movie on my 6th birthday-from then I was hooked for life. I waited 25 years to find out why my hero Ob1 had to die. Sad I know. I will definately see it, just dont know when I will get a chance.

I hate Angela Bishop more than life itself.

Mind you, I love life quite a bit. But you get the picture. If I was a deranged, depressed individual who despised every facet of his/her existence I would still hate Angela Bishop more.

Clone Wars??Wtbf?Who cares.. Kids film isn't it?

Since when was Mixo a city rep?? I'm pro, but bewildered

Yeah, the film is pretty clearly aimed at parting some more parent's from their hard-earned because of eager young kids...First Ewoks, then Jar-Jar, and now some idiot alien padawan that Skywalker has as a sidekick...Coming to a Bratz doll isle near you!

(Canon? What? Where?) **Jumps out the window to try and catch the credibility of the franchise**

What place would be better to see it at- Hoyts melbourne central or the Crown Casino-both are near work and I can take off during the day and see-play hooky from the job. Ive been to Hoyts at Melbourne Central but never the Crown Casino so I want to know if its a better place to see it.

I prefer Melbourne Central myself. It's got the bigger screens (I think)

I like both, but I haven't been to Crown since Hoyts opened because it's farther away ... IIRC it's about the same though, although naturally with Crown you get the prettified casino surroundings.

Ah yes the pretty lights and sounds, I guess I would have to go with the bigger screen-dont know why but it always makes a movie better watching it on a huge screen.

    Probably not ... :p

Anyway, just got back from the movie. It was alright, an entertaining way to spend one and a half hours and $10, but if I didn't already like SW it wouldn't have hooked me. I didn't really expect to be impressed and I wasn't, but I wasn't disappointed either.

My biggest peeve was the animation. Everyone's movements had the kind of jerky, blocky motion reminiscent of early animated films - you know the kind of thing that makes characters look like puppets, and when they pick up things the handgrip doesn't look natural. (Which I think is deliberate because LucasFilm can and has done better, but I just don't like it.) The closeups on the faces had this sort of faux-painted look going, too, rather than a CGI-ed feel.

The lines ranged from absolutely terrible and cringeworthy (which seems standard for the prequels) to hilarious. None were worse than "I truly, deeply, love you" though, so that's a plus. :p I was rather impressed by how they managed to get the voice actors to sound like the live-action ones except, for some reason, Anakin. I don't know what exactly it is - I think Matt Lanter has a slightly higher voice than Hayden Christensen? - but the others were spot on.

Overall, OK movie, I've seen better but I've also seen worse. I was mildly surprised Ahsoka didn't die by the end of the film, because you just know she's going to get shafted sometime between then and Episode 3 simply because she's not in there.
