I'm gonna get it either Sunday the 27(my birthday), or the 28(with birthday money). If I do buy that, I'll buy the OT on DVD the same day.

I picked up my DVD last night and finally got a chance to watch it tonight.

Great stuff. I had only seen a few of the cartoons when they originally aired, and I would always catch them in bits and pieces, so it was nice to finally be able to se the whole thing uninterrupted.

The extras were nice, I popped the DVD in my XBox to try out the Republic Commando demo, I'll be picking that up this weekend. :)

I can't wait for season two to come out, has a release been announced yet?

The vol. II Dvd will most likely be released when the ROTS Dvd is released, which is around Nov.

Got my order yesterday. Unfortunately, Amazon.com smashed the hell out of the DVD case and the DVD was all scratched. They're sending me a new one, but in the meantime, I was able to watch my damaged copy with little trouble.

The cartoon itself is terrific! I really dig the stylized look, and the action--especially the space battles--is spot-on Star Wars if a little over the top.

Unfortunately, the cartoons don't hold up quite as well strung together as they did when seen in 3 minute segments. There's really not enough story to hold everything together. Each episode has its own self-contained narrative, but when viewed one right after the other, things can seem a bit disjointed. I would describe Volume 1 as "all sizzle and no steak". That minor criticism aside, these cartoons are terrific fun.

The DVD quality is awesome. I watched it on my computer, and the picture clarity is brilliant. The lines are all crisp and clean, and the colors really pop. The sound is also very well done, but I can't comment on the surround sound since my computer speakers are only 2.1.

This DVD is definitely a "must buy" for any fan of the visual side of Star Wars. On a related note, Volume 2 is shaping up to be a winner as well.
