    more at variety.com:

The "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" movie is expected to run around 100 minutes and pick up between episode II and III.

Lucas serves as exec producer on the project, which will primarily employ voice actors. The only original actors returning are Anthony Daniels as C3PO and Matthew Wood as General Grievous and the battledroids.

Not to get to melodramatic, but this fall is huge for SW. Lucas needed to get something out there, something to get the 30 somethings(like me) and above who believe they could work a light saber if needed something to get their blood boiling.

However; with that being said, a poorly put together project like "Droids" from years past, could put the franchise back lightyears.

With all that being said, look foward to August.

I'm hoping for big things from this Clone Wars movie/series. I am hook, line and sinker buying into the idea that this series (and the live action one coming down the road) will be heavily character driven and thus reminiscent of ESB. With The Flanneled One playing the role of executive producer, that puts writing and directing duties on (hopefully) more competent shoulders, again a la ESB.

It may be naive but this animated Star Wars movie may be what I've been waiting 28 years for.

This is all great as long as there are plenty of action figures, books, and other miscellanea that I can spend my money on.

Boy CH I was thinking the same, thing, oh great more characters I have to get to complete my collection.

TW...again this is very pivotal, there is plenty of material to make this great, but history is not on our sides

No doubt, but as long as Lucas is "hands off" with respect to directing, and (especially) dialogue, I will remain optimistic.

This reminds me, we just purchased a $60 DVD player from BestBuy today. It has a USB port of the front. You can copy Divx/Xvid files to a USB drive and play them directly from it. Sweet! And it up-converts to 1080p via HDMI.

Went and saw Speed Racer tonight at 14, and there was a trailer for Clone Wars attached to it, and they have a poster up for it.

It may have been the best part of the show.

No way. I mean, they've announced none of the remaining top human characters will be a cylon.

Besides, Gaius? it would have been too obvious.
