A Christmas Carol. The version with George C. Scott is my favorite.

I saw the first 3 Bourne films. They are entertaining, interesting and suspenseful, but I've been losing interest in that genre, as of late.

Dags you just reminded me of the time back in 2005 I wrote a PM to a friend here of my version of ROTS and what I would have done.

Took me over two hours to write and it didn't even send I was so mad.

The one they did with Jeremy Renner made me lose interest. It felt fabricated.

Our kids and grandkids better not think they can reboot the OT!! Or anything SW. Exceptions would be live-action adaptations of the animated movies like Rebels. Still, I hope that doesn't happen either.

 

Yes, the time issue also relates to the specific picture. Kong has been done so many times, same story. Let it rest for awhile.

I like what Disney did with Oz the Great and Powerful, for example. It is an original story that features well known characters. It is not a beat by beat retelling of The Wizard of Oz, although there are many moments that evoke the original.
Other examples include Maleficent and Saving Mr. Banks, which tell excellent new stories, strongly influenced by the originals.

I do remember I had a lightsaber duel between Windu and Dooku though. It was at sunset and they were at a cliff edge, they both were using intense force powers that created a kind of Earthquake that had them go down a land slide. So it was ambiguous what happened or which one won. This happened over half way through the treatment and Anakin had just about turned at this point.

Also the Yoda and Sidious duel took place in a crumbling Jedi temple instead of the senate, The emperor won by a mile to show exactly WHY Yoda had to run.

Yeah, I think that Zeus should make a law that once a SW live action picture is released, that is it. No remaking that particular story.

Davak24 yes, she create the rebellion and took down Gunray and the CIS in the senate, she didn't have any action since she was 8 and half months pregnant, but she was still a shrewd senator. She did get shot though on Gunray's orders but survived, she died after giving birth due to the injuries inflicted,

but that's all muddled in my head

reading that back that seems rather crap

I used to journal, when I came across certain entries I would get the urge to reach through the book and slap my younger self in the face.

it was probably better the way I wrote it.

The worrying thing is...I can't remember what I did with Obi-Wan's story...he was largely absent until like the third act.

It was something like *we cut to Obi-Wan cutting down droids like butter, the planet he is on mountainous* or something

not that I dislike Obi-Wan, he just needed to be...out of the way, and I refused to have Grievous in it

 

Disney is rebooting Pirates of Caribbean by adding new characters.

but I must say if Lucas handed me reigns and said "here Rick you write and direct this" the tone of it would have ben so totally different it wouldn't have felt like a continuation
