If that's the only song, then that is beyond ok. ;)

Adella7 YES. Perfect Drug was great, I'm Afraid of Americans with Bowie is superb.

I never did get into NIN, but as far as I know, songs I still hear on terrestrial radio include Closer, Head Like a Hole (my favorite from NIN), Terrible Lie, and I think Down On It. And that's from the old-school era. I hear their best albums are Pretty Hate Machine and The Downward Spiral.

It should be noted that The Downward Spiral was recorded in the same house where Sharon Tate was murdered by the Manson Family.

I'm still not quite caught up with the thread, but NIN is an incredible and mindblowingly creative band.
btw, I'm thinking of someone else right now.
Sorry, I'll try and catch up...

Nanaki You know your NIN lore. ;)

Jar-Jar Binks Me too. :p I always debate changing it but I just can't break from tradition.

Thanks Jar-Jar, I thought was funny too when he told me. :p And yes she did Dandy; I almost posted it but didn't expect anyone to like it. And didn't think you'd bring her up; suppose I should've guessed though since you've caught Disney shows hanging w/the younglings in your fam. :) And thanks for the NIN suggestions y'all; now I have a whole bunch of listening to do to see if I like them or not. :p

Going to bed before I fall asleep on the couch; so tired after this week. Thanks again y'all; you are all so wonderful & kind & I hope you all have a great weekend. [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

QueenSabe7 the only reason I know that particular detail about The Downward Spiral is because around the same time that album was being recorded, Reznor was also producing Marilyn Manson's debut album, and I know from a documentary I saw on Manson's early years that that particular album was also recorded in the same house. (Manson and Reznor, however, have not been on speaking terms since the late 90s, if I'm not mistaken).

And how awesome were the 90's? [face_dancing] If I get a time machine I'm going back to the 90's to make movies.[face_laugh]

It amazes me that NIN aren't more well known here, there and everywhere.
    Trent Reznor is a genius.
    End of story.

Listen to what Sabe said. She knows.

Is that who Trent Reznor is. I thought he was a composer because he did the sound track to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. [face_love]

That's the only film score I'm aware of that he did, but knowing him, it's safe to assume it's not the only film he's ever scored.

Looks like the alcohol and music are flowing tonight! I'm having an O'Dell's Levity (I live in a city that is PACKED with microbrews!).

NIN, eh? I know they were popular during my growing up years, but I never really got into music too much back in the 90s. Though, i bonded with U2 and fell in love with Jewel. There's a lot of great local music here now...folk, funk, some good rock.

In the 90's the internet was signed on with telephone. The only place to look up stuff was the library .

Your best bet of finding out who Trent Reznor "is" would be to listen to Pretty Hate Machine, imo.
It's a masterpiece record, front to back.
    After that, go exploring...
