Admiral_Volshe Good to hear you got some sleep. I'm just waiting to see if any spaces are available on the course after they tried to paw me off to a football course because it's "local." The fact that a football course is available says it all. I may still look into college even if I do get a space. In the meantime I'm just laughing at Rush Limbaugh's latest craaaaaaaaaaazy antics!

So Valve have revealed they are entering the games console market, but on a more open business platform than the current big console developers (Third parties can develop these consoles and be supported by Valve, despite Valve also producing the hardware themselves.) It's an idea that's got me interested, especially with how you can upgrade the innards like a gaming PC. It's a neat way of blurring the line between consoles and PC gaming. If Valve are aiming at releasing these things to be within the same price range as consoles then we could see the end of the notion that consoles hold game development back.

The only downside is that the prototype that was on display is only a little more powerful than an xbox 360. With no real pushes in graphical capability in a year when consoles are expected to be making a huge graphical leap come the summer with PS4 and xbox 720, it could limit how well the Steambox does in sales. It's something I've got my eye on though.

 

By then it'll be 2014.

I say we just go for a short but sweet introduction, and that's it...
